New enterprise allowance?

What are the rules for new enterprise allowance these days?

Do you need to be on JSA? If so for how long? Is it six months or something?

How much help do you get when starting a self employment business?

Can somebody apply for NEA if they are getting income support because they were a carer?

I dont quite understand this bit......

Starting your own business
You could get mentoring and a grant to help you start your own business through New Enterprise Allowance.

You may be eligible if you!!!8217;re over 18 and either:

you or your partner get Universal Credit, Jobseeker!!!8217;s Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance
you get Income Support and you!!!8217;re a lone parent, sick or disabled

A word of warning! if you decided to share you valuable Business idea with People'sPlus Group (who are the service provider for DWP should you decide to get onto the NEA program) they will not sign any Non disclosure agreement! which should make alarm bells ring to any Business savy person!

I'm very weary of this program and have decided not to enter this and develop my business idea myself.

Find a Mentor outside of the jobcentre if you have a good business idea!

If you search in your particular area normally you can find free mentor advice.
