checking if solicitor is in the bank's panel?

Hi,


Is there any way to check if a solicitor is in the bank's panel?

I don't really understand it but my solicitor has been rejected by the bank for remortgage process because he's not in their panel.

    It's Natwest.

    My mortgage advisor told me that he's being added but it's been 10 days and he suggest me to find another solicitor that's already in the panel.

    Generally speaking, if it's a firm they're likely to be on the panel.
    If it's somebody that works as a 1-2 man business, they're probably not on the panel.

    No large solicitor "firm" could have got that large without bothering to get listed.
    Smaller 1-2 man businesses might just not think it's worth the hassle to be accepted as they get enough work already.

    Yes, I will ask the next solicitor. The trouble with big firm is their fee is doubled, otherwise I won't think twice using any of them.

    You don't need a big city firm, a local firm with a few partners, a few solicitors and some paralegals should be on the panel.
    Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.

    With it being a remortgage are you not being offered a fees assisted package through the banks own solicitor firm? Or is there a specific reason why you need or wish to use your own?

    All the Intermediary remortgage products have free-legals.

    Not necessary. It can be a cashback mortgage with no free legals.
    Or a buy to let mortgage.
    Ir something quirky that is niotr covered by free legals eg transfer of title, lease extension etc envolved.
