    Doubt that very much, Unite has nearly 1.5 million members. 3000 members and 12k a week is a drop in the ocean to them

    I do understand what you are all saying but I pay my subs only for the reason that if I had a accident on site and it was jlrs fault the union will fight for you .. that's the only reason I pay.

    Hi,

    To any who started in September on a 3 month manpower have you had any update as to if you will be extended or laid off? heard a few rumours of bs3 going back to 2 and a half shifts after christmas and others saying we will be kept but moved around for those who have handed in notice elsewhere in the factory?

    Some of the lads that started in OCT/2016 on 3mth contracts have had letters from Manpower renewing for another 3mths.
    However, some have NOT!..

    3 years ago i would have recommended JLR as a place to apply for a secure job.

    Agreed. Never give up a job for JLR. I learnt this the hard way.

    What we will see now IMO is the gradual shrinking of the workforce. Anyone on agency, around 4000 of us, currently even those of us who have been here 3 years will be slowly let go over the next few years until just the 7k core workers remain (slowly decreasing year on year as people leave and retire) with surplus car building requirements shipped abroad for cheaper labour.

    Has anyone heard about the possible job losses (which there is a lot).
    Due to FA1 going down to two shifts from summer shut down?

    Not heard of FA1, Bodyshop 1 is going 3 shift, bodyshop 2 is dropping to 2.5 and bodyshop 3 is 2 shift.

    What's the latest news on the 1000 jobs going at Solihull. I heard there was 1800 agency with 1000 leaving, Was it done on service.
    When will the staff leave
    Is Fa 1 and 2 going to 2 shift.

    Ppl were told yesterday. SOme people leave next week so in JUne. Was done on a lot of things.
