Is there a discounted word package out there please?
I think I used home user premium 3 years ago. Is that still around?
Any better offers?
Many thanks

Home User Premium? What's that when its at home?

Sure you're not thinking of Office Home & Student maybe?

If you just need a Word type programme to type a letter to Auntie Alice then you could use the Wordpad program that's part of Windows already or look at the open-source equivalents - OpenOffice, Libreoffice, etc - which are all free.

MS Home Premium was an edition of MS Windows 7
Maybe the user is confusing the MS office suite of programs with that of MS Windows?

Perhaps the OP is confusing it with the Home Use Program?

Check if your employer offers the home user program, usually shortened to HUP

OP simply needs to follow my link, enter their work email address and the website will tell them if they are eligible.

Don't want to say this too loudly, but I am still using the Office I got under HUP from my old job, seems nobody told Microsoft they they'd made me redundant. So, if you still have the old install disc/file and licence key from when you used it last, it may still work.

Also, if you have an outlook.com free email, you can get into a basic version of word from Office365 online, for free.
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

I decided to go for openoffice.org via download in the end as we don't use word processing very often. seems fine so far. Thanks everyone for the help.
