I hope you’re very happy together.

Not sure what you mean by that.

I only asked a question to try and help, and gave warning about an aggressive poster

Thanks for asking. In my opinion they are not ok because the two areas of carpet are different colours. If my blue car was damaged and needed a new door I’d be a bit annoyed if they put a red one on!

Did they replace a blue carpet with a red one?

Try having the original carpets cleaned.

I have a suspicion that you may be taking the p...

However, very little in life is black and white (pun intentional). I am trying to gauge and seek guidance on the point at which a difference becomes sufficient to complain.

    Is that ok?

OP you have no chance, they have replaced faulty carpets in rooms. They have no legal obligation to change non faulty carpets in other rooms. Your argument is not going to work and would never stand up to a in court.

The same as the stuff fitted 20 months despite no footfall, sunlight etc.

Very different to the stuff fitted a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you. Would it be different in your opinion if I could prove (a professional report) that the two carpets were different?

If you can PROVE it (e.g. different carpet codes / colour codes) then yes, you could have a case.
