Looking for 1 night in Fremont Street area for the last night of our stay. Been to Vegas before but not downtown.

Preferably cheap, clean and with that old school Fremont vibe?

Not sure if its worth being swayed by the ones with no resort fee or not in this situation?

I think all the rooms at California are recently renovated and they have no resort fees.

Pebbles..Am I right in assuming you have stayed in both California and MSS Downtown ?

Is your preference for the Cal over MSS ?

It’s just that we have only ever used Main Street when staying Downtown. We are more than happy enough to use for a couple of nights to get our Fremont fix,but would be interested if you feel the rooms are better at the Cal.
We like the “feel” of Main Steet hotel over the California, and obviously the breakfast buffet at MSS is good for the price. But would maybe try the Cal on a future visit, can still walk through for breakfast at MS.

We have stayed in both and prefer MSS, but like the look of the newly renovated rooms at the Cal. A couple of friends have stayed in them and enjoyed the new look.

We have stayed in a renovated room at the Cal and will be doing so again in March., they are very nice.

we love it there but have never stayed at MSS

we have 3 free nights over a weekend there, we dont gamble much so if you have gambled there before have you checked your offers on Bconnected

    Thanks Pebbles & photome.

I always used to see comments on here about not needing to gamble much to get comped rooms at Boyd properties.
I have always said we don’t gamble much, but do play a little most days over recent visits.
Yet we still never had even a sniff of a room comp.
But during the last trip in October I had a mad half hour in the Orleans on the latest versions of Willie Wonka.I normally stop once I have lost a little, but for some reason this new wonka machine had me reaching in my pocket for more money.
I quickly went through a loss of $300+ before having the sense to go to bed.

But at the turn of this year when looking at my account, there was 2 nights room comp at any Boyd hotel...downside was available for first 4 months of this year.So no use to us.

Nice to have had a comp offer though at last.:D

do you keep checking your account, they update offers frequently and usually add offers before the expiry of the previous one .

we normally get 2 free nights a month, was pleasantly surprised to get 3 free nights this time round ( and over a weekend) with no resort fees they really are free nights as opposed to the strip offers where resort fees are now $40ish a night

We had a 2 free night offer a couple of years ago. Must have had a crazy half hour at some point for that, but we really don!!!8217;t gamble enough to get comps most of the time. I checked my win/loss statement for each casino in the Boyd group for 2017 and I had a total net win of $18 for the year. Go me!

I check my bconnected a few times through the year, and never had anything before.
On checking my win/loss statements over the last few years,I have usually been either just tens of dollars up or down.
This last trip showed a $360 loss at the Orleans...that was obviously the mad half hour I had.

While I hope not to let myself get drawn in to proper gambling like I did on that occasion,it does show that there is the potential to be rewarded for being stupid.:rotfl:

Agree with photome,Boyd free rooms are free,as it says no resort fee to be paid on comped nights.
If this isnt the case with strip hotels comped nights,I think thats unreasonable.

Edit...Just looked at my comp for Boyd and its not for any property as I said, its only for Orleans,GC,Suncoast or Sams Town..so nothing was offered for Downtown.
  • Sorry if this has been asked/answered elsewhere, I can't find it. I've just booked with Virgin for March staying in Paris. It included breakfast credit each day, but no detail as to value per person per day, or where it can be used. Virgin online chat could not help. Anyone on here have any idea?

    TIA
