fingers crossed this new thread has no gremlins like the ones taken up residence in the old one (will move everything accross after tea.)
As featured in Cross Stitch Crazy's Club of the Month.
Welcome to the Cafe's new thread.
Have you got some UFO's (UnFinished Objects) still to finish??
Setting yourself deadlines for stitching cards and pressies?
Half way thro a huge project and needing motivation to finish?
Found a fabby stitching bargain that you want to share??
Just really want to get something off your chest?? share happy or sad news, or just ask for advice without being judged?
Then grap a cuppa tea and come and have a moan, come a borrow ideas, or just look lovingly at everyone else's projects.
Don't forget to set yourself up a Flikr photo album account - and join the group over there to share your projects easily.
How to share your pics from FLIKR:
1) Go to the picture you want to show us click the 'Share This' button on the top left of the picture, this will show you a number of options and the one you need is called 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', Tick the button for BBCode and it'll convert the code to what you need.
2) Copy the text in the box and paste it into a new post on MSE and it should have everything you need to insert the image into your post. You can check this by clicking Preview Message.
We also have a facebook group here which is great for sharing discount codes/ fab links etc for any FB addicts.
This is a continuation of our 2011 cafe (which can be found here and here ) but don't worry you don't need to have actively participated in that to join us now.
and then our 2012 cafe - here
moving onto the 12/13 thread here
and most recently settling on the 'extend your to-do list' thread which got attacked my gremlins.
So what are you waiting for?? Grab yourself a cup of tea, a shiny new needle (as is the law with a new cafe thread) and share your latest project.
Please remember copyright rules are there for a reason. we are more then happy to share ideas and help out where we can however we have recently had a lot of people expecting copywritten charts for free or for members to hunt out ideas for them and then never give so much as a thank you. This really doesn't fit in with the groups ethos, please think before making requests. Please read post 10 if you are ever unsure about copyright restrictions.

How many strands should I use?
For the best coverage of the fabric use the following:
11-count aida - 3 strands
14-count aida (or 28-count evenweave over 2 threads) - 2 or 3 strands
16-count aida - 2 strands
18-count aida - 1 strands
22-count hardanger - 1 strandloves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

if you follow the link you will indeed see it is a free for all.
A very good point to raise tho (if done in the wrong way) and the first page is probably the best place to put a reminder for any new members that may stumble accross this friendly thread.
quote from cross stitch guild:The copying of a chart for use by someone other than the person who has purchased the chart (or the recipient, if it was a gift) is illegal
quotes from tw design works:a "working copy" may be made for the stitcher's personal use only. To be in compliance with copyright law, this copy must be destroyed when you are finished with it.Q: I'd like to make several items from the same pattern for a fundraiser/charity. I'm not personally profiting in any way. Is that OK?
A: Not necessarily. It's always best to ask the copyright holder.Q: I want to sell my finished stitching on eBay (or where ever). Is that legal?
A: Yes, as long as you purchase a new pattern for each item you make.Q: What if a pattern is out of print? Surely I can make a copy then?
A: Just because a pattern is out of print doesn't mean the copyright has expired!Q: What if I can't find the owner of the copyright of a pattern?
A: If the pattern is less than 70 years old, then you're out of luck. If the pattern is older than 70 years, then there's a very good chance it's "in the public domain". But, be warned: this may not actually be the case!
I think that covers pretty much everything
If you are ever unsure or think someone has deliberately or accidentally broken the copyright laws in the cafe please contact myself or Sweetcarer (if anyone else would like me to add them as a contact please pm me) who will be happy to approach the person quietly on your behalf and ask them for proof it is not copyright material and if it is to remove it. if the person fails to remove copyright material (or proove it is in the public domain) the MSE team will be contacted to take appropriate action against that individual.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored.
