GDPR and banks

Hi there. I constantly receiving emails from a UK bank, which is greeting me with my first name. I am their ex client (switched before year or something), but they continue to send me emails.
Does anyone know where I can make GDPR claim against them, because as far as I am aware they should delete all my personal data. Am I right to think so? Thanks in advance

Banks have to keep your details for at least 6 years after the account was closed. If you don't want any marketing just ask them not to send you any. You won't be getting any compo - sorry.0
