All depends where you live and what your local water company "adds" to the water. Around my dad's in Lincolnshire the tap water tastes vile in comparison to mine and you'd definitely wouldn't want to make a cup of tea with unfiltered water unless you want all the floating scum that comes with it.

Having said that I don't see these dedicated filter taps as being very good value for money in comparison to separate filter jugs, I think it's more of a convenience thing.

Interestingly, in some ratings Birmingham is among the top places, in sime - among the worst. This just proves that tastes differ
