Offered superfast fibre for £19.99, this include line rental, and weekend calls. My dilemmia is the 2 year contract.

Do BT still offer weekend calls plan?

I thought new plans are for Pay As you Go, 500 Minutes, or Unlimited Minutes call plans?

fwiw, Another friend mine placed an order with Virgin Media with line rental yesterday as they were looking for a 12 mth contract. BT subsequently phoned them this morning and offered Superfast Fibre (they only get 43 Mbps max) with 500 mins of calls for £28.99 on 24 months retention deal. (sounds like it is made up from: £23.99 fibre + £5.00 calls)

Hi Does anyone know when BT price increases Happen March 20 , My Halo 1 Broadband has their price promise which is -
Your bill won’t go up when your contract ends and you’ll never pay more than a new customer.
Does this say I can not leave if the price increase is not going to happen ?
OK should have no problem reducing my monthly amounts but ideally would like to leave, I currently have another 8 months to go to end of contract.
There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:

BT have previously suggested there will be a price increase around March 2020. But my understanding is anyone who signed a new contract since 2018 will find their Terms & Conditions state that any future price rise will be in line with CPI I think. This 'fixed' rise is exempt from Ofcom rules because T&C specifically quoted CPI. If T&C had been 'vague' about the amount of any price rise, then a customer could leave without paying any early termination fees under Ofcom rules. So if you currently pay £50 pm to BT, then the rise will only be about £1.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

March 2020 increase based on January 2020 CPI

My understanding is what has been explained above applies to contracts taken out from month of January 2019 onwards

Called today to cancel and they dropped it down to £33.99 (no March increase until 2021) for broadband, tv, line rental and bt sport for the full term + amazon prime video for 6 months. I took it as all my research suggests that I cannot get broadband with BT sport for less than £38/month with other providers so seemed a no brainer, also no faffing changing over.

You guys/gals are getting some good renewal offers!

Called back today and was offered the same deals as last time - £29.99pm on superfast fibre (same as what I have and pay now) or a free upgrade to superfast fibre 2 for £29.99pm. Was hoping I could get a discount on my current plan but it does not seem forthcoming.
