I'm interested in this one as well. I work in an office job 8-5 and another office job 6-8. I find being on my feet for more than 5 minutes intensely painful- all checked out by the GP and physio, just need to be more active- and I find pushing through the pain barrier a challenge as just getting up, going downstairs to the toilet and then grabbing some water about as much as I can take.0

You can also do some breathing exercises while you are on your desk. This will rejuvenate your mind and get you some concentration. Along with this, you can go for a walk or some sports on weekends. You can also take a little nap after lunch by which you can feel fresh.0

I also find that not the amount of exercise I get, but what I do is what is important
I used to mix cardio with yoga or boxing with yoga and it felt best. I try to mix something very active with something that simply helps me relax, work on my flexibility and deeper tissues0 -
Understand that exercise gives you energy, and at work you spend it.0

I also work in an office and have the same issue.
A small tip is whenever you go to the toilet, go to one that's the farthest away so you have to walk further. I always use the one that's downstairs so i'm going up and down the stairs a lot.
Get up and walk about on your breaks. This also helps keep you awake and concentrated as your blood is flowing.0 -
Can you ask for a sit/standing desk? People at my previous companies had these, they cost about ££100-200. This may help with sitting too much.

It's a lovely thought but no work wouldn't provide us with sit/stand desks.19-02-18 Total Debt £30,322

I'm a bit late to the discussion, sorry, but thought I'd link to this reason behind us believing that 10000 steps is optimal when it really isn't.
