Don't get either if you don't have a 4k TV, both consoles need to do extra processing to downscale 4k to something your TV is capable of displaying. TVs only upscale.
Heard of super sampling?
You will be hard pushed to spot and real difference between PS4 Pro and xbox1 X, don't be fooled by paper specs, use your own eyes. Get the one that has the games you want (personally I think the PlayStation games lineup totally destroys the Xbox in this regard)

Supersampling is a method of upscaling. The fact remains a non 4k telly can't accept a native 4k output from either and Xbox one X or PS4 pro, so both consoles need to downscale the image to 1080p
This is why games play slightly worse on both consoles than when they run native 4k.
If. You planning to upgrade to a 4k TV soonish, it's worth taking the hit, if not don't bother with the pro.
There are stunning PS4 pro deals about £299 with a couple of decent games. Expect these deals to evaporate over the next few weeks, as stock runs out.(this happens every year, by December PS4 prices start to rise again).

The PS4 has been 20% more powerful than the Xbox one since launch, it's got a far more capable cpu and gpu and faster memory, yet retails for the a similar price. Microsoft opted for a 4k drive, Sony went for the better hardware.
The 4k consoles, Sony went for a more mainstream approach, Microsoft went high end, and Xbox one is going to set you back and extra £150 with no real benefit and arguably less exclusives.
Not really sure what you obsession with supersampling is, both PS4 pro and Xbox one X do it when they need to reduce a 4k picture, it's a very simple algorithm that has been around for decades.0 -

we are talking Pro. So what was it they spent the money on that mattered?
Plenty of people are reporting seeing the difference on a 1080p screen. you seem very keen to dismiss this.0 -
I am still tempted to get a PS4 pro white.
My Standard PS4 still runs fine & is 4 years old...
My TV is 4 years old still runs fine....
I know that the pro will last for years and new TV if I get one...

Update I got PS4 Pro Back, I love it...
I still have Xbox one S Deep blue... Should I upgrade to Xbox one X? Or keep it??0 -
