Old Style Weight Loss 2019 Part 3 4th Jul 19 at 3:13 PM
    Hi All

You're have to bear with me guys as this is my first thread

Thank you Cranky for running the previous 2019 challenges,

As we've decided that we'd like a new thread for each part of our 2019 challenge I've started a new one for the 3rd quarter. I haven't posted the links to previous challenges either - we're all capable of looking them up by title if we want them.

Please feel free to start posting your weight loss goals for the next challenge which will run from the 1st of July until the 30th of September (13 weeks).

You do not have to submit a loss or gain for the first week as it's our starting week, you can post your first loss or gain the week after on a day of your choice.

As usual everyone is welcome - we support and encourage, we don't judge

There are some useful links to help your weight loss journey found on the previous challenge, sorry no time currently to work out how to do them myself

    Morning All,

Some great losses this week, well done.

A couple of busy days here and I've sadly missed out on my walking too but food-wise I'm still sticking to the plan

    Yesterday I had
    B - hummus, crispbread, pomegranate
L - leftover pesto pasta, tomato salad
D - gammon, broccoli in cheese sauce, sweetcorn

I've changed my morning routine, rather than sitting watching telly with my, few... , cups of coffee I now start off with some hot water and lemon then do about 15mins of yoga to try and keep me supple. This morning breakfast has been a poached egg on toast, then for lunch I'll use up the bits of hummus, cold meat and cheese that are taking up fridge space. I'll pop out soon and combine my walk with a detour to the fish shop and see what looks good to have for tonight.

Then I need to update my freezer inventory and make up a meal plan and shopping list for the next few days.

    +2lb for me.

Time to start weighing my portions I think and not eating for 2 time zones.

    Today’s menu was/is

Instant Bircher muesli with strawberries blueberries coconut yogurt and too much peanut butter. Milky coffee.

Boiled eggx2, butter lettuce, peanut chilli sauce and grated cheddar. Milky tea

Probably a milky tea and gluten free almond slice.

Tuna steak, peas and new potatoes.

    1x Chocolate truffle
Probably a g&t, hopefully no crisps.

    Have a good weekend.

    Evening All,

Managed a reasonable walk yesterday in between the heavy showers; the fish shop came up trumps, I got a couple of herring fillets (gave one to a friend cause she loves them too) and picked up a haddock fillet as well. The herring was lovely and fresh, coated it in oatmeal and fried in a oil/butter mix and had it with some of my home grown potatoes and peas - oh so delicious.

Its been raining off and on most of today so I'll get out for an extra long walk tomorrow. Used up the last of the hummus, with grapes & crispbread for breakfast. L = watermelon salad and pepperoni and for dinner I had the haddock in breadcrumbs, sauteed the l/o potatoes, sides were some peas and a blob of tartare sauce - feeling well full and loved my fishy weekend.

Got a basic menu plan drawn up and its back to using freezer stock tomorrow.

Wasn't much needed on my shopping trip today, mostly staples as I'm trying to use up what's in the fridge & freezer. I still have half a watermelon to use up so it will feature repeatedly this week.

    Todays meal plan
B - scrambled eggs on dry toast
    L - watermelon & feta salad
D - chicken & mushroom lasagne, raw shredded cabbage & carrot
    Still snacking on oranges/grapefruit/pears

    Morning everyone,
Hope you all had a good weekend.
We had a lovely time visit family. Good parkrun on Saturday morning.
We had some nice treats over the weekend. Had a nice walk yesterday afternoon.
Today’s weigh in shows just a 0.25 lb loss so I think we’ll call that a STS!

The next few weekends we have quite a lot going on event wise so I need to make sure I keep on the straight and narrow during the week and hopefully keep the running up.

Hope you all have a great week.

Only a loss of half a pound for me this week despite a huge effort.
Still, it is better than last weeks big fat nothing, I suppose.

    Hello All,

I weighed in for the first time since coming back from holidays, and pleased to report a 3lb loss I'm pleasantly surprised, as although I had a lot of alcohol, we did lots of walking and I lost my appetite in the 30 degree heat.

Hi Brambling - I seem to have already reported 3 weigh-ins when everyone else has only done 2!! Please can you add a 3lb loss which I originally posted on 15th Jul 19 at 8:36 AM?

Well done with your losses everyone, seems to have been a good week.

Yesterday was a busy one at work so I didn't get out a lunchtime. I did go for a very sweaty, hilly, huffy puffy run with the other half after work. 5.4 miles. Had a lovely tea of fishcakes and warm squash salad with avocado, rocket and mozarella, following by quite a large piece of cake brought back from out visit at the weekend.

It's certainly a warm one here today, so it's a salad medley for tea; homemade coleslaw, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, homous, edamame beans and bulgar wheat. We'll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow too.

    Evening

Sorry s_glover I have amended the list to include your 3lbs I make that 8lbs

it has been a very hot day today 33 when I left the office at 5.30pm I was glad I left the curtains closed this morning. I'm sitting in a linen dress which I brought when i was 2.5 stone heavier so it's a little roomy and not suitable for outside the house I don't think I have the sewing skills to take it in and as it wasn't expensive not worth paying someone to do it.

Exercise has been limited today as I preferred the air conditioning to walking lunchtime and I prefer not to risk my asthma with the heat

B - mixed berries, nectarine and Greek yogurt
    L - beef salad
D- quorn goujons, purple sprouting broccoli and a sprinkle of cheddar over the veg
S- grapes and a fibre one brownie

    Thank you Brambling

I've been wearing a pair a shorts around the house garden which are many years old and fit when I was heavier - think I need to find a new pair as they keep falling down and I can see an embarrassing scenario happening anytime soon!
