Paypal free returns, how do I use this

Purchased an item on ebay and it is faulty. Seller has been very helpful so rather than make them pay for a return label I was wondering how I go about utilising paypal free returns so they foot the bill for the return.
Or would it be safer for me to file an item not as described and just get the seller to pay for it?

When did you buy it? The seller being unhelpful is irrelevant if you are within the time limit eBay give.
Paypal returns are not free, you need to register and you are reimbursed to a prescribed amount.
It is always safer to use eBay returns if within the time.0 -
Sometimes they have an offer of return on us, if you dont get that when you log in then it may not apply to you.
If your claim is still within ebays timeframe then dont move it to paypal, stick with ebays returns.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Yeah now that you mention it paypal free returns doesn't look as straightforward as I thought it would especially if I have to claim back from paypal.
I'll just stick with the ebay return as suggested.0 -

For a faulty item, as in your situation, the best bet is ALWAYS via eBay*.
*assuming you open the case within the timescales.0
