:) I had a major sort out of my sewing threads yesterday and now have everything back where it should be and have refreshed my memory (and taken inventory!) of all I have. Three spools of thread have been added to the charity shop bag and some other bits and bobs (buttons etc) added to the jam-jar that goes the the chazzer once a year when it's full.

I'm hoping to get to my craft stash soon - my sister wanted some recently, she's making cushions from family textiles, and she wanted something that represented *me* in a particular colour range, which was lovely of her. But it made me remember what great fabrics are there :rotfl: I'm not ready yet (still digging in the garden!) but come the autumn, I will be.

2 pairs of socks to the ragbag, although dd2 kept the one still good girl's sock to make into a barbie dress (just cut off the toe).

DD1 is away at camp for 10 days, and DD2 is taking her opportunity at unlimited cuddles and conversations with Mum :) We worked in the garden yesterday, and cooked dinner together. She came up with the menu, did all the cutting and helped put items in the pan. She is 8 and accepts instructions, which is a joy.

Husband was asking me last night to go through my wardrobe and take out anything I didn't wear anymore, so he could take it to his African relatives next month. I had great pleasure in informing him that there was nothing to take out, I wear all of it :D

Finished up a facecream that DH bought me....quite nice but not my favourite and found another jar almost finished so that's been finished off today. Down to one pot now...more than enough ;)

Like Silvasava, I am using up a facecream I am not particularly fond of, but it was free and does the job (quite well, even. I just don't like the smell, something like aloevera and cucumber...).

We've moved! Cor blimey we picked the wrong week, it's far to hot to do anything! Our poor removal men were really flagging. So far there's a few bits of built in furniture that we've ripped out ready to dump, the carpet in the master bedroom will be coming up tomorrow and a few bits I've unpacked that just don't fit will be heading to the CS tomorrow when we pop past.

Feels like home already though, (even though we've had a blocked loo, no water pressure and can't shower as the seal has gone around the bath)...1st world problems eh?

Congratulations, Pooky! My word, you did pick the wrong week, didn't you! But that's the thing now, the extremes hit when they hit, and there's nothing to be done. I was remembering about a heatwave that hit when I was about 13. Geography class, in the new portakabin classrooms - it was 84 degrees, and I'd never experienced heat like that. Nowadays, that's still hot, but not to extremes :(

I was really glad I had procrastinated on getting rid of our booster seat, because in Belgium and the Netherlands children can ride without one as soon as they reach 135cm, but in Germany and Austria it's 150cm!
