    Good luck with your plan.
Can you invest in a thermos and take some good coffee with you?

    Thanks for following debtfreeoneday.

Yes I think I will invest in a flask but I think for me it's more about getting a wee break of change of scenery. Especially if I've been working from home. I can easy cut down on my Mocha intake, it's actually ridiculous!!! Lol. Wonder if it will help my waist line too!

I think every top end exec should do a car boot sale. I met a man who did a car boot sale every Sat and he used the money to do his weekly shop on the way home. Also met this lovely woman from Romania and she came to the UK to be an architect. She told me her whole life story and it was amazing!!! I work with a lot of people who are contracting and paid very well ( not me unfortunately) and on talking about what we got up to at the weekend they were talking about mitchelin star dinners they'd had and I started telling all the story's of the car boot sale and how it was such good fun lol

    I'm such a devil!
    I love that :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Spent a lot today in Asda and Costco £25 but 4 wee friends and 4 mums and 2 older siblings all fed and watered and had fun!!!! Lots of happy kids playing you can't put a price on that :0)
Exactly what luckyinlife said - and what you're thinking, I'm sure - living life, and finding ways to do it by spending the minimum without sacrificing happiness. Good for you!

Absolutely - when I first got into all this, I was still working in London on Friday nights (self employed) - I'd make my tea at the centre I worked at, at about 9pm, and drink it when I got on the train home at 10pm - saved me a huge amount of money in very short order, the little flask paid for itself in about two weeks.

Just seen your post about wanting the change of scenery - I couldn't agree more, but are there any public areas you can go sit in - a park, a shopping centre (as long as you're not spending in the shops!) that sort of thing? I work from home, so I always make sure I go out for a walk during the day, especially if I'm not going out anywhere else.

My main aim is to chip away at the mortgage without effecting family fun. I don't mind sacrificing things myself and weighting up if I really need it. But I won't cut back on holidays or days out with my boys.

Went to a flume slide pool and my son said, 'that was the best day of my life so far!!!' We had a blast zooming down the slides together until he was brave enough to go himself.

Flask on Birthday list!!!! That'll be good one for kids to get me. Lol

I think thats it isnt it fire we need to have a balance as a mortage is over years and years not weeks or months

I guess if it was guaranteed to be payed off in say 2-3 years we could give up a lot in that time to make sure we free up the rest of our lives but when its over 8-10 years or more i dont see any point in giving up some stuff as for you holidays and id never give time up with boys :]

the kids will get you a minion flask haha :p be so funny

1 more item listed on eBay, although just saw it on amazon cheaper so chances of it selling are slim! Never know!!!

I'm experimenting with that myself - amazon fees make it practically impossible to sell DVDs, for instance, so I'm trying them on ebay. If nothing happens for a few months, off to the CS.

What about music magpie for CDs? Is that still going?

On one of the other boards there's a make £10 a day challenge . There's lots of good ideas on there for making bits of money.

Good luck with the challenge :)
