Starting again #3 + 2 more mouths to feed

So here I am again 3rd time round!!

Things have changed a little since my last LBM, I now have another 2 beautiful babies

oh and I got engaged!

That's makes me a working Mummy of 6 and Fianc!e of 1!

Debt has increased since last time quite a bit, need to sit down and total it up. This includes store cards, a car loan to replace my old car that wasn't worth fixing, a loan to pay off cards which I then spent on again and credit cards

Not going to keep beating myself up about the fact I should now be debt free but I really do now need to start making headway in paying it off.

There are so many things i would love to save for and do which I just can't afford whilst I am paying this debt namely getting married, having a family holiday abroad and saving for our own home.

I need to find a bit of time to work out a realistic budget and savings plan. Will try and do this a little later.

But for now ....

Today's to do list:-

Make up lunch and tea from cupboard/freezer
Washing
Drying on line (finish towels in dryer)
Order food shopping for delivery tomorrow
General tidy of house
Go for a walk with the children

For now I think that's all, will be back later to update!!

Need to keep on top of this diary, if only to organise and remind myself!!!

I've found you! Don't lose motivation. It is difficult to start because there seems to be so much to do. Break it all down into bite size pieces. Don't be hard on yourself, you're a mummy to 6 - that's amazing to start with! I get tired with 1, eeeeeek!!

Sounds as if you fairly clued up. Has the debt arisen due to maternity leave or lack of budgeting? Good that a lot seems to be on 0%. Is it worth posting an soa? How much debt do you have?

Hi, popping in to offer a little pom pom wave! I am a newbie to YNAB and so far really like it - the app means I don't do all those little spends because I don't want to have to confess them to my budget

Just read your diary through. I empathise with the food budget. I have a large family and do struggle to keep it under £400 a month.

I think that school holidays can be more expensive food wise as the children are at home more and mine certainly have a tendency to graze.

I did find a brilliant veggie burger recipe that was incredibly filling. The children were so full they didn't have space to graze on anything else.

Looking forward to having an Aldi near us soon.

With the food budget, are you doing all the usual frugal things, batch cooking, meat free days, Ys shopping if you can? You could try posting up all the food you still have in and everyone could suggest low cost meals for you?

I do have a "something on toast" meal usually on a Friday. Most of the children will opt for beans or eggs, so warming and filling but simple. Find by Friday I'm so tired, I need something simple!

Do you find there are foods that run out quickly? I find that milk and fruit are the foods that seem to disappear overnight. I have taken to hiding a pack of apples in another cupboard so
I have always got enough for packed lunch boxes and so that they don't eat everything!
