i bought one of these from Argos on saturday, specifically to use with Ryanair.
flew with ba to edinburgh on sunday and although they have slightly bigger height allowance managed to get enough clothes for 12 days into the case and it weighed 9.8 kg.
so, i think it will do me fine for even getting through gerona!

Just booked flights, we always book one with a bag then 1 airport check in and I have a little holdall. Wish i'd got a bit wise 1st though, I now see it would be easier to do 2 hand luggage and do online check in, that would be £40 less!!

But will know for next time!! Just checking is the Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001151/partNumber/2861962.htm
still the best deal and Ryanair have no problems with it??

A lighter one would be better, but I'd say it would be a lot more expensive.

  • Medium size foldaway
The medium size foldaway has a Linear Length of 115cms (55 x 40 x 20) and weighs less than 875g. This piece is also suitable for all the major airlines but particular Easyjet and Ryanair who set this exact size. Capacity 44 litres. £20

My friend did on a flight 2 weeks ago. His bag was in but the wheels did not. The staffs were making a fuss about it. So, he broke the wheels in front of them, told them that it now fits. The staffs were surprised but he was allowed in.

I'm reading this thread because I'm flying with Flybe in a couple of weeks and I'm surprised at how many people are buying expensive gear. Personally, I'll be off to Primark or the local market with my tape measure and one of my mates always uses her trusty zip up cooler bag that she's had for years.

Thank you - couldn't see for looking on their website!

I will just be measuring all the holdalls/backpacks I have as it's only one night and some sports stuff I will be taking.
