When I asked nicely with a tip I was just directed to look at the list of upgrades available for a fee per night. There was a list with pictures of various rooms and the price per night extra fee. I'll try to get a pic of the sign for you later.
TBH the standard room we had in September last year was just as good.
Its good to have a nice room but if your only going to sleep and shower in it save your money for the slots, tables or whatever takes your fancy.0 -

Coming back I'll just do that Route 40 road.
Cheers mate.
Whats the script with driving then? Are most of the roads pretty dead? If so are you able to put your foot down or are there police knocking about?0 -

The roads are generally pretty clear, so you can average a decent speed without having to go around speeding - not as many roadworks as this country, and not as congested.
I reckon you will be able to average 55-60mph on that route, wouldn't recommend speeding as the police seem to just appear from nowhere - they also do speed checks from helicopters so not really advisable. If you get caught the time spent paying your hefty fine will be more than you would potentially save.
Have a great time, glad you decided to visit the South Rim. You certainly won't regret it.0 -

I was just going to mention that. I wouldn't dare speed (much) in Nevada because the fines are high. There are signs along the road saying about speed being monitored by aircraft.0 -

I have done thousands of miles driving in Nevada/california etc...got caught doing 90 in a 65 a couple of years ago...No idea where he came from, first I knew was when I saw a blue flashing light in my mirror but couldnt even see the car he was that far behind me. Knew it had to be me though as nothing else on the road.
Make sure you carry your license( I didnt that was a mistake) with you and photo ID
The fine was over $400 but I couldnt pay until after I got home and the nice lady in the sherifs office I phoned from the UK said "that is a lot to pay I will put that down as a parking fine and charged me just over $100. I was very happy.
I did consider not paying but as I wanted to go back and hire more cars I thought it better to pay0 -
SeptemberJust got home yesterday after managing to add a couple of days extra at no cost with BA because of the strike stuff.
Just a couple of hi's and low's
The Platinum is great place to stay but the pool area is like a morgue and a sauna rolled into one. No trouble at all with housekeeping as mentioned by someone before.
Wynn/Encore will not get one single penny off of me in future, I swear their machines are set to the lowest payout that is allowed.
M resort is fabulous gaming and a nice place as well. Lots of small domination machines and great CW service, like a downtown casino with class. Didn't rate the buffet there as some others did, thought it over priced for the fayre, but then again where isn't these days. (Iknow, Orleans, Gold Coast).
Got really stung on craps for the first 4 days then gave it a rest and played B/J and had better luck.
Started going to Bellagio more as there is loads of low limit slots, craps and B/J (see they can do it so why not others).
Best story of the trip, Thursday night decided to play craps again at B as I had laid low most of the week. Had $60 in chips as I had just lost 40 at B/J. An hour later I cashed out with just short of $1,200. That's right, a newby girl roller stepped up (that's why I jumped in, always lucky new women rollers) and she rolled for an hour before 7 out. There were people standing 4 deep around the table trying to get on but no-one was leaving, I saw guys cashing out 10's of thousands, at any one time there must have been $50,000 on the table.
If you are flying to LAS with BA DO NOT bother with their world traveler plus, go with Virgin Economy plus, it is a different animal all together. We managed to get Club World out using miles for upgrade, but on the return had WT+. BA are taking the !!!! with calling this a premium product. Basically same as economy with wider seats and an extra price tag of more than double the price of YThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
June2 weeks on Wednesday when we go, getting very excited now!
Having looked at the airport map on the PHL website, its not very clear. So anyone who has travelled through PHL, we would appreciate some advice.
When we get off the plane, clear immigration and collect our bags, do we then leave the terminal/travel to terminal B and then go to check in again at the US Airways desk?
Or is there a desk/area within Terminal A where we recheck our bags and then travel through to the other terminal?0
