    Save a penny a day 2018 29th Dec 17 at 12:38 PM
    Hi all

I'm planning on following the penny a day challenge again this year, as it really kept me motivated to save. Below is the link to the thread from last year.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5578213

The basic idea is that you save:

1p on the 1st of January
2p on the 2nd of January
    ...
    £3.65 on the 31st December

Your total at the end of the year would be £667.95.

Personally I tend to mix the days up a bit more, i.e if I have £2.52 in my purse that's what I put in that day. I also found it a bit easier to try and get some of the larger amounts scored off towards the beginning of the year.

Please feel free to join in.

    FEB - £121.51/£200 NSD- 1

    Evening all

I have started my tin and have just reached day 3 . I have added bits and pieces but need to now get on the right track. I plan to do random days as someone else here said. I am ticking off my days now too.
    Good luck all
My DH and DS have also jumped on the bandwagon so the competition is on

    Good luck all

I'd like to join in this please, I have my amounts printed out on my fridge.
I don't do it the usual way, I tend to see whats in my purse and mark off some of the higher ones. I think that'll help further in the year.

Hi everyone - Iím doing this for 2018 - Iím doing it but not in order.
Iíve printed off the sheet and each day I put in something and mark it off - it just spreads it out a bit easier as I donít always have the right amount on me.

Iíve made 10 payments so far as is the 10th Jan - some for £3 some for 20p just depends what I had on me! Hoping to manage it for the year

Had a great boost to fund this weekend. Clearing out a corner of stuff that hadn't been touched in 5 years plus and found a bag of bagged up coins, how excited was I!!! Not exactly millionaire making as it was just a couple of 5p bags and some 1p bags but means I can cross off the end boxes for a few days for sure. Perhaps I really ought to tackle some more of these clutter zones, lol.

Day 21 and I've ticked an amount a day off. Had to do some low end numbers which I wanted to avoid but it's been a tough month. Have also joined the grocery spend challenge to motivate me to beat a weekly budget so I can afford to save in this challenge x determined to fill the pot this year.
