Plodding on, as ever, really busy at school. End of year reports, assessments.

Lodger a bit up and down. Adult company quite nice, sharing home not so much. Feel like my parenting is being judged. They're quite laid back, I'm really not. My kids have set bedtimes, mealtimes, homework, reading etc.

Major reshuffle at work after the 31st may deadline for teachers to hand in their notice. Each year group has a new teacher in. Feel positive about next year though!

Halifax won't let me have the mortgage in my name, as I failed affordability, so looking at options. On the plus side £57,000 to go. Started with £143,000 7.5 years ago so heading in the right direction albeit slowly.

Having a pretty crap weekend - had a crash in my car, other driver was overtaking me on the inside. Unsure who is going to be blamed. I've 11 years no claims.

Keep thinking can this year get any worse.

This year seems to be on the up. Lodger OK, not sure if they are looking at moving on as noticed some brochures the other day. Enjoying the money whilst it lasts.

Have let my house from 1st sept, one of the previous group staying over summer but 'lost' around £800 for Aug with only letting it to one. Anyhow keeps insurance valid, saves me council tax bill, water rates etc so better than nothing,

Have a mortgage broker coming round next week as still can't get ex off the mortgage. Feel sorry for ex as he's missed out on his new house as they won't let him off the joint mortgage.

Fitness walked 6 miles round trip to local tarn saving petrol spend.

All in all great day 7 hours entertainment including party, park, tarn, walking.

Lodger confirmed plans to move on. They are looking at buying in the local area so realistically will probably be here another few months.

Mixed feelings, I like the company but would like my bedroom back as currently I share with my 6 and 5 year olds.

Have seen an ad locally for a pgce student wanting a room next term whilst they complete a placement at a local school. A Mon to Fri let as they will return to their family home on the other side of the city at weekends. Was tempted but don't really have space would mean putting dd3 in with us. So four to a room.

Also concerned I'd end up doing the students marking/ planning with me being a teacher.

    No spend day yay!

Went to pick my car up from garage. 5 mi le trek. Dd2 moaned most of the way. Felt a bit guilty as she had a blister on her feet. Didnt realise this til we got home. Couldn't justify spending over £6 on bus fare.

Car needed new brake pads, disc pads £190. But all fixed now.

Mortgage advisor coming round later, hopefully he will be able to rid ex from the mortgage. As ex has lost the previous house he was buying, he's asked me to go house hunting with him. I've said no, its not my concern. He wants me to choose where I feel comfortable with the girls staying. Again he's an adult, he can choose something sensible.
