    Wow - I must be living in Camelot :D. We have no snow at all - absolutely zilch :eek:.

    We were watching the 6 pm news last evening - when the rain started lashing down and by the time we went to bed most of the snow had gone. Got up this morning and there's not even a sign that it was ever here in the first place.

    It's really great news because we are due at the GP's tonight and when I saw the weather yesterday I was thinking we'd have to cancel. I just pray it stays like this. DS is going to see if anything can be done for his knee ligaments, DH needs a referral to another asbestosis specialist, as the one he saw last year was so lacking in communication skills that I wondered if he had some autism type problem and GP agreed! I need to get the results of the neck x-ray, have my BP checked and generally talk about the patches/methodone situation.

    I'm glad to see that most people seem a bit brighter - it must be the lovely new surroundings ;).

    Keep warm and well - or as well as possible and I hope your snow disappears as quickly as ours.:T

    After the end of the last thread, I figured we could do with a little light relief, raeh.
    We have "teasy" here. "I'm feeling some teasy"
    Some = a lot, considerably
    Teasy = irritated

    Just the one slice of the sultana slab please, Unity. Love that you're feeling a little brighter.

    I had a fabbie dinner - lamb chop, dolphin-nose (dauphinoise) potatoes, gravy and mint sauce. The lamb was absolutely gorge.
    Must remember, I do not need any choccie.

    Would you like a:coffee: to go with the sultana slab? :D Don't forget there's still coconut rice pud left if you didn't have dessert ;). I was just saying to Sue that I'm going to have to start watching what I eat as some of my jeans are starting to feel just a little tight :o maybe it's time for a quick fix with the low-carb diet - although it has to be said that when I went on it last year I got the complete opposite effect to what is usual - no great surge of energy, in fact quite the opposite! I swear this is just another complication of the fibro though as a friend from the pain clinic had the same effect. It may be worth it just to make the low-carb brownie recipe though :p.

  • Only a very light sprinkling of snow has stayed here and it isn't actively added to it for a few hours. I wish I had 6 inches :D It's been a while
    Well, we had about 3 inches last night, which stayed overnight and now it looks like we're going to get a couple more inches. All these inches add up you know although I don't think we're going to get a full six inches round here.

    "The worst snowfall for 18 or 20 years" sounds quite extreme, but in reality it's a piffling amount round here.

    All our snows gone, but my son who lives only about 15 miles away said its still thick there and he's off out with g/s to make more snowmen.

    I was so tired last night I went to bed early to read but fell asleep almost straight away at 9.00pm, I then went on to have one of my worse nights ever and only realised this morning why, Id been so tired I'd forgotten to take my night meds :eek: I've cancelled Hydrotherapy today as I feel really washed out and just want to go back to bed, but I promised my Dad I'd visit him this afternoon so will have to keep going for now, anyway I stripped the bed this morning so I cant go back until I make it , and thats just too much like hard work right now :D

    It's stopped snowing here and the sun's come out and all the snow is rapidly disappearing. At least the kids out the back had time for a snowball fight and to build a snowman before it started melting. Right - what's the difference between a snowman and a snowlady?*

    Sorry you had a carp night. I treated myself to a new adjustable bed a couple of weeks ago and it was delivered last week. The novelty hasn't worn off yet so I'm going to bed early most nights. I can finally sit up and read for as long as I want to as I can raise my legs and rest the book on my lap instead of knackering my hands holding a book. And, although I wouldn't say I'm sleeping better because I'm still waking several times a night, I'm not waking up in agony and having to change position to ease the pain in my hips and lower spine. It's luvverly.

    I do not know how I would manage without my adjustable bed - in fact it I think twice before going on holiday these days, because I can't take it with me ;). I do find I sleep in some peculiar positions to get comfy and sometimes I wake up curled like a paper-clip :rotfl:. I don't go to bed during the day at all, though I often fall asleep on the sofa, so I am always glad to see my bed - it's about my favourite place to be honest ;)

    Ah, well, I 've not been on holiday for about 4 years now, so it's not an issue right now. Although now I've got the new bed I'm even more reluctant than I was to consider staying overnight when visiting family. I don't think those without real/severe sleep problems understand just how precious what little sleep we do get is to us. [Get the violins out folks. Ed.]

    Add to that the fact that I've already got into the habit of raising the head end in the mornings to make getting up easier, I suspect even having the bed less than a week, I'd find going back to an ordinary bed very hard.

    afternoon :D its still a white wonderland here ;) had calls early to say both schools were closed although staff were expected in :rolleyes: we only had to man the building in case any kids turned up but none did lol. We used the time for a tidy up and sort out then i was back home for lunch time. The roads around here are still trecherous as they are covered in packed down snow, cars were obviously just left last night as there are loads sat by the road side. It has started to melt slightly as the sun was out for a while but thats worse as it will then freeze again and i did hear there may be more snow on the way. I had to take Bill to school with me and i pulled him along on the sledge [aching arms now :rolleyes: ] but he and a couple of toher kids that came with staff played out all morning :D he was saying bless him that hes never seen so much snow :D

    unity coconut rice pud sounds yummy :D im making toad in the hole for tea so may have to try that for dessert ;) hope you all get the answers you want at the gp :)

    i hope everyone manages a good nights sleep tonight, the idea of having a full nights sleep just sounds fabulous :D [and also a fairytale]

    s/e your joke made me and bill giggle :o

    i really would love an adjustable bed :( we talked about it after buying a new memory foam topped mattress which :rolleyes: is ok but still not brilliant. Its the idea of being able to move it to get up rather than heaving myself up in a morning i love :D
