word of warning to anyone even thinking of doing it- everything youve read on here is true, yes its fun-youll have a ball but omg you work sooooooo hard for nothing!!!!

Not much of a job then is it? Most people work for the money to live with, if you get paid nothing it kind of defeats the point, no matter how much of "a ball" you have...........

Ive bin in my job for 4 months now on one of these so called scams.,I can see the frustration as to why people feel they get conned.I still feel i got conned into the business too because i didnt apply for the job either and when i came for my interview the second time i was whisked away to some area watching what was going on and thinking ''i dont think i can do this''
I know the strain of commission based earnings and know it can be tough. My first week i made just under £140 and i thought 'this isnt for me' but i knucked down and carried on and now i make around £400 a week and has been as high as £800 a week. The scam bit of it isnt true because you get paid real money and i have seen some of my friends get promoted and i have seen them make big money and open up offices and stuff.I think half the people who write blogs are people who has never gave the business a chance and have never seen people get promoted so they just presume its all a scam. How i see it is that if you never started,or you quit then thats because you couldnt sell or you gave up,because the people around me have proven to me that there is light at the end of the tunnel all i got to do is get there. Have a gooden peeps, happy job hunting x

Fortunatly you're one of the ones who does get paid for what work you do, I worked for P&D or also named under JMS Marketing in a Liverpool office (Bixteth Street) and became one of the best salesmen within 3 weeks of working there, I was promoted to leadership after just 2 weeks.

I had exceeded my sales targets every single week, but still wasnt being paid by the end of it, to get paid I eventually had to threaten to get a solicitor involved and then I had my money. It is a con because not everyone has ready access to a solicitor so won't bother with the arguing and presuring the boss for their hard earned cash.

You say that the business isn't a con. I myself was promoted in very fast amounts of time and I still know it's a con.

To go even deeper into the company. If you're good enough you will eventually be told & taught how to run your own office, because no body is told how to open up their office because it consists of this: (You will see why they hide it by the end)

Opening up your office consists of you become assistant manager for an office or the office you work for, this is simple, doing things like interviews and admin and all sorts of office based things not really going out into the field which yes you will and do learn a lot from this
    HOWEVER!!!!!!!

Once you're trained you will be asked to sign a contract for 10 YEARS!!!
Where you will be in around £40,000 worth of debt to Jesse Young (MD of PerDM)

You WILL NOT! Earn the rumored 1-3 thousand pounds a week, you will earn around £300 a week (roughly £15,000 a year)

Plus on top of that you still have to pay Jesse Young the debt back which has interest on top of it!

The only winner here is Jesse Young the magic man who lives in California......Oh no! Wait! No he doesn't, he lives in Manchester England! Driving round in his brand new Aston Martin DB9 while all his little "Business owners" are in debt to him paying for his mansion, his children to go through private school (If he has any kids that is) and for his nice shiney car.

I take my hat off to Jesse for conning people into making him rich I really do, the people I can't stand are the people in the Liverpool office (or any office PerDM own for that matter) they're the real con-men, desperate to make a sale so they can wipe their debt clean and get out of the business that brainwashed them and ruined 10 years+ of their lives.

It's called "Multi-level Marketing" this is just a fancy term for pyramid scheme, and the office owners in debt to Jesse Young are at the very bottom, and the men & women who walk the streets....Even lower!

If you read all this I hope you truely to take it all in because you may think how do I know this?
I know thisbecause I've been there and done it. PERIOD!
So no one can come back and say I'm wrong because I've seen it and experienced it with my own eyes.
    Thank you for reading =)

Wow, this forum has been quite interesting and very useful!
As a student needing to save up for my travels after University I've been searching for jobs and sending my cv to companies. I went on Monster.co.uk on Tuesday night (11 pm or even midnight) and got a phone call at around 10am the next day telling me that the manager was really impressed with my CV and that they wanted to arrange an immediate interview with me the next day. The company was Oracle Advertising Limited situated in Manchester, near Canal Street and next to the National Express bus station. I thought it was a bit weird being called in so soon, but I've never had a proper job so I got a bit swept up in the idea of an interview and so went along to see what was what. I thought it was weird that the waiting room had two tvs playing the music channels but stuck around for my interview because the offices looking nice enough and professional.
Looking back on it, I think the receptionist knew I was a bit suspicious because she kept a conversation going with only me when another 10ish people were waiting to be seen.

The manager was called Ali Mir. He seemed nice enough. He told me about the companies such as Npower and Sky which they "represent" and also told me that people earned between £200-£1000 a week depending on how hard they were willing to work. He explained that this was a three interview process. The one I had today lasted around 10 minutes and was very vague. I had filled out an application form and he literally just repeated what was written on it, ticking it. He told me that Oracle Advertising was part of (I think this is right) Cobra and that although it was only a few years old, it was expanding in Canada, America and Brazil most recently (an attempt to impress interviewees no doubt). He gave me his card and asked if I could come back tomorrow for a second interview at 12-9pm! I thought this was extreme but said yes.

I got home this evening and explained what had happened to my parents. They seemed equally suspicious and so we googled the company and this forum came up. I've decided I'm going to stay in bed tomorrow and watch the World Cup instead of (if some of these posts are anything to go by) being dragged to some other city for hours for no reason.

Hopefully other people will see this forum before getting further into the process than me.

Can anyone tell me if Oratory UK are involved in this scam? I've seen trident house, dale street, liverpool being mentioned before, and this too seems like the typical "no experience neccesary", "call back next day" type of scam.

I don't want to go to the interview if it's just going to be as previously described!

    Thanks for a heads up

    Anon.
Yes they used to be called code marketing but had to change their name coz of their shocking reputation!!! ALex Pinker is still the manager (or owner as he calls it)
    Avoid!! it is a scam!!!

That is an interetsing comment further up. That they claim to be a legit company, doing door-to-door sales... AND are working with the Red Cross.

As far as two individuals have told me, both of which have experience with law... it is illegal to ask for donations that way in the UK, the most you can do is rattle a bucket/collecting tin when people walk past. You are not allowed to ask people directly, or approach them. (definately not ring their doorbell to ask)

people with more reasons to mess with the company could quite happily report that to the appropriate office if they can get proof of this being done by the company. However... as the people who fall for this scheme are self employed, they will most likely be the ones getting the blame, not the company they are meant to "work" for,

Good job I came across this site. A woman from P & D Marketing phoned me up just then, she claimed she got my CV off fish4jobs and that she had a 'Customer Service' role for me. I immidiately sensed something was up, too many things she said didn't add up, but I put it to the back of my mind. Then she said she would send an e-mail with details of the interview here it is (by the way I took my name out of the e-mail, I've also took out the links because as a new user I cannot post links because of spam):

So I was happy I'd got an interview, and as with every interview I decided to do some research. I typed in P & D Marketing in google, and 'scam' came up, which confirmed my feeling that something wasn't quite right. Needless to say I won't be attending the 'interview' on Monday, which is in the Cotton Exchange in Liverpool.

I was lucky because I found this site, but if things are really as bad as described, then keep up the good work in reporting these companies.

    Thanks again

Hi, Im 16 yrs old and im looking for a job to fund college and uni tuitions and i applied for the exact same job as you. I got the same emails back and someone called tiffeny called me too. I have an interview tomorrow at 5pm at the cotten exchange. i thought this was a little wierd because it was buisness offices which get let out to people.
Should i just not go to the interview or call up and tell them were to go?
Thanks for posting this because i wouldn't know what i would have done if i was scammed.
    Thank you xxx:)

It seems as though these companies now have to be on their toes because of threads like this which allow prospective employees an insight into what they are about to let themselves in for.

People can make their own judgement on this company, but personal experience from genuine people mean more than the brainwashing you recieve from the second you walk into that office.

Surely Kevin, it cant be an extrordinary coincedence that EVERYONE who you have hired over the past few years has left the business?

Maybe its time you accept the fact that thousands of people are right and its you that is wrong! Not the other way around.

FACT: JMS Marketing ltd, will at some point change its name.

FACT: Everyone that works for Kevin O'neill right now will leave the business at some point this year.

    Kevin O'neill.
