Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. MSE what have you done and messed up the links? If your hot on removing alleged out of date links, have you bothered to check they are actually in date or provide info for would be posters ?
I suggest a message to G_M To politely check links are correct which they are, or do them yourself
In the meantime posters should use:
https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice
You are also having double standards, why aren't the other sticky also redacted with the usual outdated links stuff?

Shame the thread has gone, hours of work to create and maintain, 50k+ posts of helpful advice and all done for free. The value created for mse was very significant all gone because less than 20 posts of over 50k pushed the boundaries of acceptable in the eyes of frankly arbitrary moderation. Madness.
When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.6 -
Its a shame they couldn't have met for tea and cakeAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......3

Love the way all replies in defence of G_M have had someone hit the report button. Charmed.
Are we sure MSE are guilty here? Cos I would've removed them too in his shoes and would've wanted to say they'd been removed as didn't want my name put to them if I couldn't keep them updated. Reckon that would be only way they'd be forced to comply. Just a request might have been met with 'you posted it, we have the rights to it'.
Anyway, just guessing. Probably getting reported myself for thinking out loud.
It's a shame. Along with one almighty eff up. Refuse to believe it was deserved2023 wins: *must start comping again!*5 -
@hazyjo If you hover over the posts you'll see that G_M has edited them himself. He's not logged back on since he did it (I sound like a right stalker) and I can't say I blame him. I hope he's away enjoying some tea and cake somewhere.
I found this thread invaluable to direct posters to since questions about deposit, professional cleaning, ending a tenancy and rent increases come up every single day on the forum. EVERY SINGLE DAY. As well as all the questions from new, and not so new, landlords.
As for the person reporting the posts on this thread, well I'll get a smacked bottom from MSE Towers if I say what I think about the reporter.8
