If you are genuinely seeking a job, then why not make a claim for JSA?
Ensure you disclose all details of your alternative income including the rental income and income from your ebay and amazon businesses

Hi ssddkj,
You may wish to get a benefit check to verify whether you would be entitled to Job Seekers Allowance (JSA). You may do this by clicking on:
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/DoItOnline/DoItOnlineByCategory/DG_172666
Alternatively, you may also wish to contact Turn2us – A charity dealing specifically with benefit issues. Tel: 08088022000 / www.turn2us.org.uk
There are two types of JSA, Income based (where your capital cannot exceed £16,000) or Contribution based (if you have paid enough national insurance contributions). As you are living with your partner, please be aware that the household income will be taken into account when checking your eligibility for JSA.
For further information on JSA and how to make a claim please click on the following link:

We hope this information has been of some use.
