I have spoken to a colleague who tells me the document I am alleged to have signed said we may be expected to contribute to the cost of any repairs for "unexplained damage". I explained to them how the damage occurred.

I don't think there is any dispute over how the damage occurred is there?

What I asked is who do you think should pay for the damage you caused to your employer's property?

Past cases with colleagues of mine have been paid for by the company.

How many of your colleagues have damaged the company van exiting the parking space?

And why is your employer singling you out on this occasion

Seems a lot more to this than you originally posted. The responses you receive will only be as good as the details you disclose.
Would you like to start again from the beginning?

Not really, no. I came on here to get a bit of advice, which I feel I have been successful in getting without your help. I didn't come here to have the case fully analysed by yourself. I obviously need to see the signed document they are referring to and that will be my next step.

As others have said these things are not so cut and dry as you are trying to imply. I've got the advice I needed. Thread can be closed/deleted.
