I've done anti-money laundering training, and I don't think the amounts we get from surveys etc would be anything near enough to make them think we are dodgy. There are also clear trails in Paypal of where money comes from and goes. They will have checks in place, but survey money will all come from well known legitimate businesses.

Happily I had a decent weekend earning (although I haven't cashed it out yet). Sadly it's gone already - had to get 3 prescriptions today which cost over £25!!!

Still, I signed up to Gfk digital trends, and installed the app on 3 devices, so that should be £30 in a month or so!

Yes, which is why it is weird, but a few people online say it happened to them with small amounts. Maybe they use money laundering as an excuse or maybe it was just the early days before they tweaked their algorithms. It'll be interesting to see what happens!

Soo sorry to read of your problems.

I do find that now everything is dealt with on-line it seems to make it so much more difficult, and frustrating, to sort things out when they go wrong.

I've kept all my bank accounts to banks that have actual high street branches fairly nearby, purely for being able to go in and speak to someone face-to-face if any problems, though I do actually run them all on-line atm.

Hope you soon get it all sorted out satisfactorily.

Sorry to hear about your problems with Paypal Aesop and hope you soon get it sorted.

When I ran into problems with the money-laudering legislation I was told that it was due to trying to withdraw more than £2000 in cash at any one time.

I did notice a couple of months ago that I had some problems trying to move my savings account when it matured (it was over the £2000) and the bank advised me to move it in smaller amounts - which worked perfectly.

I don't think the amounts from survey sites/ bay of E etc would constitute any attention from these sources and there must be something else going on. Has someone put in a complaint about something ?

We had our business PayPal account restricted a while ago. Can't remember exactly what the reason was but it was something to do with reaching a threshold. We had to give them some extra info and then the restrictions were lifted. It was quite straight forward. Will have a look through old emails tomorrow to see if I can find more details. Although it was our business account we aren't talking mega bucks.

Good news PayPal have unlimited my account. Big sigh of relief.
It may have been to do with all the citizen me and embee payments I was receiving.

I know money laundering for 10p and, £1 sounds ludicrous when you know it is done on such a bigger scale.

QueenJess what you say about it acting like a cc makes sense.

But I don't like it and think apps like circle, paym, android, and another one are Tyring to stop PayPal being the monopoly and give people more choice.

Hopefully they will. I suspect when eBay and Paypal split they probably signed an exclusivity agreement for a while. Hopefully it'll end and open up the market a bit.
