  • Yay re. mortgage payment. I really want to start OPing next year but I feel like I have so many conflicting goals and not much $$ to go round. That's interesting that your mortgage is in 3 parts. Do you have equity loans or something of the sort? I've never heard of a mortgage having more than one part. :rotfl:

Oddly enough, I can't remember what one part came from! The largest part is from buying the house, which was a lot of years ago now. We also added to the mortgage to have work done on the house a few years ago. Curiously, a friend has a big old house which had at one point been divided into smaller properties and she had to buy one part outright and get a mortgage for another part.

I wonder if the bank will let me pay under different rates? We don't owe enough to be eligible for Plan A, which was an offset mortgage, so this can be Plan B.

  • This all sounds very complicated. Sucks that you can't get an offset mortgage.

Apparently we don't owe enough... which is a nice problem to have :D

I didn't actually personally spend anything today but I aided and abetted DH in getting various things to wallpaper the lounge, I gave him the rest of the housekeeping money to go to the chippie for both of us and I paid off what I hope is the remainder of the money owed to date for work on Mum's house. That's a lot of money going out in various directions though not directly through my hands.

Nothing else to report apart from picking up a shift at work... there are plenty going but mostly when I'm already working so I may need to pace myself as work will be rather active if we can't fill the rota. I felt so much better today that I did some moving & handling (carefully) but while I don't think I've done damage, my back is telling me I've done it. So at least I know I'm not pretending. :D

Off for a nice hot bath and see if that does the trick.

I was considering Epsom salts because the magnesium is supposed to be good... thank you for the reminder. :) Could well help here.

I slept badly last night what with the back and eating too much chocolate... but today has gone well. We got a What'sApp from DS1 who was watching the new year fireworks at the other side of the world. We had the cheapo version: YouTube. :D

I have officially pulled the plug on next week's stint of working on Mum's house. Just got to let the back get better. Maybe here, with the internet to distract me, I can make progress on other stuff and rest it for a couple of days. I've also accepted two invitations to meals out so the diet may suffer a bit but it will be nice, and neither place is expensive.

    Nothing spent today.

    Happy New Year everyone!
