Bought new mobile and used for few days.

Contact list from old mobile has appeared on my new mobile, how is that ?

Just wondering how, through what Application or Setting or Action, contact list has been transferred from old mobile to new mobile ?

Only if you've told it to back up to your google account ;)

Could have (and preferably should have) been saved on SIM card...

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

The O/P has told us they did move automatically, so that would suggest they had been backed up.

Does anybody do it this way any more? And why wouldn't you back up your Google account?

Why keep all your contacts in the cloud and out of your control. Mind you not letting google know your contacts on android is as possible as Neptune holding back the tide with a toasting fork.

    This is an Android phone.

I don't know anything about my data being backed-up in cloud, don't remember seeing that or agreeing to it.

I know some Apps want access to certain information & they have Sync setting, whatever that is. Thought that might be doing it.

It's when you sign into your Google account when setting up the phone.
    Google own Android.
