Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2019 18th Dec 18 at 1:24 PM
Welcome to Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2019!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2019.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another 50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is 315.43/7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

    Official MoneySavingExpert insert, 14 Jan:

Want to join the challenge? Please post your debt amount on this thread and ask to join. Muppets will assign you a special number (eg, #001), which you'll then start all your posts with.

You can also get help in the Debt free wannabe board and Debt Help guide.

If you haven’t already, join the forum to join in the challenge.

Good luck everyone and thanks to muppets for the original post!

This Forum tip was included in MoneySavingExpert.com's weekly email!

I'm feeling really ashamed of myself having been AWOL for so long.

Having started off so well at the beginning of the year I fell off the band wagon let life get in the way and had some expensive unplanned purchases - new fridge freezer, and new washer dryer (paid out right) within a month of each other due old ones breaking down. Been on a few holidays, stopped doing my spreadsheets and hey hoy surprise surprise what do you know it's all went downhill fast! To date I've only have only cleared 972 off my 2800 target.

I'm not going to be in a position to meet my original target by the end of the year, so will carry it into 2020! I've given myself a kick up the butt and will see what I can do before the end of the year. I'm hoping to knock off at least another 200.

The only plus is that I've saved more than I thought in my VSP towards Xmas and have purchased a lot of my Xmas presents already.

A massive well done to all of you who have stuck with it, so nice to read all the great progress you're making, it's motivated me to get cracking again!

    Novembers payments made today... 744.32

    Brings my total to #134 - 7,528.77 / 15,985.00

Unfortunately I'm not gonna hit 100% so will have to continue into 2020 but, by the time I've made Decembers payment I will have paid over 50% back.

I’ve not been around for ages I’ve been out of work but I’ve kept my head above water and only added a little to my debts. I got a job yesterday so I’m good to get back on it I won’t clear much but if I’ve cleared 25% it’s better than nothing. My job is zero hours but I think there’ll be a good chance of earning yay We’ll done everyone

Payment of 105.58 to credit card
    Payment of 526.41 to loan

#02 is declaring an updated total of:

    8,742.03 / 10,000 (87%)

By the end of the month it'll be just tipping 88% then with just standard payments next month (no overpayments because, i mean, it's December...) then i should round the year off at approx 9,500 which is so, so close to target. I doubt i'll have any extra to free up in December but i'll be a lot closer than i thought I'd be.
