  • Try not to be too disheartened KK, the same happened with my husband and his manager told him she'd rejected it because he is one of the best in her team and doesn't want to lose him (he also sat on the fence in case it was rejected)/ I think in DH's case they were looking to get rid of people who either weren't very good / productive or who didn't want to be in the company any more as bad morale can spread. Might not be the case in your company, but it sounds like your boss was maybe putting out the feelers to see how you feel because they don't want to lose you so were seeing how much you actually wanted to leave. Fingers crossed you get it though if you end up with a good payout and new career you enjoy more x

Hi all, so no update on the work front other than them confirming the numbers- in my pool 16 have volunteered so they will reject 6, we just don’t know which 6 (it’s hard to guess as it’s across a three sites and several teams I’ve not had anything to do with so don’t know the people).

We thought we would be told on Wednesday afternoon according to the packs they have shared but no word yet. My line manager is being vocal she doesn’t want me to go and has been telling the senior manager this, which is nice to hear in one sense but a bit frustrating as think I actually do want to go now.

On the job application front, my application was successful so I had to do a mental agility test which they’ve confirmed I have passed so have invited me for a phone interview.....super exciting as I thought they might disregard my application due to lack of work experience in the industry.

My moods been a little low the past few days and I can’t face yoga or the gym. So tomorrow I am going to go to yoga in the morning, try to get my regular routine back in and shake off this fog.
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Thanks for this Charley, it does help. I think I’m just a little disheartened as it feels like I’ve made a decision to gain some control in this situation which may not get to be kept. But, it will mean I have a job for longer and can work out next steps etc.:j

Doing a Gousto meal today (we didn’t end up making it out of our last super cheap box so had the dry ingredients still in the cupboard) so chicken katsu curry using up some yellowstickered chicken thighs from the freezer :)

Managed to get some good cat food deals on Shopmium last week and have managed not to go food shopping this week as we had so much in stores so saved £25-£30 from the food budget which is good going.

I also managed to get two small gifts for Christmas for the gf- used the Argos toys voucher code and got a friends board game & a monopoly cheaters edition for us to play and do games nights together-£20 all in and will collect on the way home from yoga tomorrow!

Hope you have something super tasty planned :)
We ended up having a chicken jungle curry, as discovered we were out of garlic and onions (which Almost NEVER happens in our house!)
So we used half a curry paste jar from Sainsbury’s that was reduced to 80p. It said extra spicy on the label and boy was it! So tasty and we ended up in Sainsbury’s today so scouted out another jar and bought my brother one too!

Went to see brother in oxford and helped him take back his recalled Argos’s mattress topper to the Argos in Sainsbury’s and got him a cash refund result!- so then treated him to the Sainsbury’s cafe which was tasty and we got to chat and got him out of his flat for a while (he tends to stay in a lot more in the winter as his schizophrenia always seems a bit worse then). £20 well spent I think and gf and I both had a lovely baguette each and no need for dinner as we’re both still full.

Weather on the drive home was horrific though and saw a crash right in front of us as someone went through a massive amount of water on the dial carriageway and smacked into another driver. If you’re off out tonight/tomorrow please take extra care and leave a little earlier ;)

Managed to get Shoppix up the £5 and was going to cash out but think will keep it going to the £20 point as will be less points than cashing it out four times..fingers crossed for lots of Christmas receipts! Managed a Pinecone survey last night and some small prolific surveys too so will keep an eye out next week.

Managed to get to yoga this morning and feeling better for it. My dad is visiting tomorrow (I never really hear/see him so am a but surprised) so won’t get to go tomorrow morning so planning a mini flow on my mat in the spare room whilst gf goes to the gym. Need to consciously stick to the routine for next few weeks until it becomes easier again....

Hope everyone’s snuggled up in the warm tonight!

Snow!? Wow it’s super cold where you are!!

I had the news last week- they’ve rejected my redundancy as want to keep me in the company. Which whilst complimentary is not at all what I want and leaves me with some decisions to make now that there will be no redundancy payout bonus :(

On the positive side I went to a conference for the franchise travel company at the weekend which was so inspiring and motivational and I had the interview with the other company this afternoon and it went so well.

So well that they’ve invited me for a second interview.....! :T

So a bit of a mixed fortnight- I’m pretty gutted about my current work as a lot of people had theirs accepted so are skipping off onto new jobs etc with a chunky payout leaving me feeling a little stuck.

I’m trying to frame it positively in my mind that I still have a job and a salary paying the mortgage whilst I work out what to do next....

Sorry to hear that KK. Good luck for the second interview!

Is GF’s job safe now or is it possible they’ll make further cuts?
