This weekend is the Reading Town Meal - a free event run by volunteers celebrating fruit and veg grown locally with the aim of bringing the community together. It's put on by charities in the Reading area which want to encourage people to grow their own food.

The meal is free and cooked by catering students at Reading College. There's also music, workshops and children's events. Held in Forbury Gardens, central Reading, this Saturday 28th September from 12 noon. Lots of info here http://www.readingtownmeal.org.uk. I am quite new to Reading so haven't been to this event before but am volunteering at it as I think it is a great idea.
