  • Hi,

I can see you're making great progress and have a plan but have you thought about doing an SOA so you can see exactly where your money is going and where you could make cut backs (there are a lot of lovely people on here who could make suggestions). Also a spending diary might help so you can again see where your money is going - when I started mine it really opened my eye and its good at holding me accountable.

Good luck with your plan, I'll subscribe for support.

Productive few days here fot my overall figure below £17.5k now quite as low as i hoped but still a decent bite into it with both SLL capital and Quick quid paid off taken total creditors down to 10 from 12.

not the cheapest of weekends went to Nottingham to see Brian Fallon but was worth the spend as had a great time and it hasn't affected things to much. £10 master card waiting to come through from Swag for the kind people at SSE and another £10 claimed for M&S from erewards insurance comes up for renewal at the end of next month have started shopping around and looks like i will be saving about £500-£600 compared to this year so well chuffed with that.

  • Rubbish couple of weeks here. Rowing with the ex over how much time she gets with the little Dude as she seems to think now that the job centre have forced her to get a job for the first time in since ive known her she should now be able to have him all weekend every weekend have explained that there is no way that is going to happen but just going round and round in circles as she calls me every name under the sun. .

No debts paid since payday last month but it comes round again next Friday so hoping to make another good dent in the overall.

just struggling for any enthusiasm at the moment Work sucks and not much happier when i get home either

Your feelings are perfectly understandable and if you read through many diaries you'll find you're not alone. When the initial 'honeymoon' period wears off and you're in the long hard slog it can be hard to see the end. Just remember what you''re working towards and why you're doing it. It's going to take time and some days will be harder than others but there are plenty of people on here to support you and keep you going. Remember where you started and think about where you'll be - you've already achieved so much.

    Keep your head up :)

  • Thank you Nellie thats very kind of you to take the time to write. Definitely know what you mean with the honeymoon period. I will do this just dont like the 30 day wait in between of paying nothing payday and seeing the balances drop is a great feeling just the time in between that sucks. doesnt help with other stresses at the moment and lacking of motivation to cook etc takeaway just seems so tempting but iv resisted so far and will keep on going. :)

Is your interest calculated daily or monthly? Could you spread the payments out throughout the month so you can have that winning feeling more regularly so you don't have the 30 day gap? Have you tried batch cooking (whenever you make something make extra and freeze it so you can just warm it up and not have to cook) or using a slow cooker (so you can just whack everything in and not have to worry about it for a while). I find having a back up of a couple of meals helps for the day's I don't fancy cooking and stops me getting takeaway.
Your signature is looking great - you're making good progress. Try to keep your target in mind and think of how satisfying it will be when you can cross them all off - an what you can spend the extra money on!

  • The interest is monthly on the few that are still charging. i am tempted to spread over the month just also slightly worried about giving in to temptation and splurging on unnecessary's if there is money still in the account so have been going with pay everything in one hit to remove any temptation. With regards to the batch cooking that's a great idea its something i used to do quite alot but just havent bothered with recently might be a task for this weekend i think.
