Somebody get the CAA/AUC some teeth for christmas to enforce all of regulation EC261/2004 http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32004R0261:EN:HTML, it really is that simple and if airport operators try to save money by not investing in snow clearing equipment, airlines should take them to task.

good luck everyone with your fight for your rights, the AUC / CAAk cant do a thing 8 months on those who complained to them about the ash cloud didnt even get an answer. the EU dont have the powers to enforce their own legislation and their eneforcement bodies couldnt careless. keep fightling for what you are owed.

"Keep fighting for what you are owed" - how? Any advice will be welcome. I have been trying to get a refund of hotel costs, etc, from Ryanair for several months. Despite sending 3 requests by recorded delivery/registered post I have not even received an acknowledgement. What next?

Last year on the 19 th December Monarch delayed my flight Larnaca to Manchester by 23 hours - no compensation. This year, same time, same date, the flight was delayed by 17 hours. They say check the web site - there was no up to date information ever posted. If you go to the Monarch web site and try to send a complaint, it is impossible. They pack us in like sardines, treat us like cattle and ignore us !! Why do we accept this treatment?

Spent extra 10 days in Egypt due to ash cloud. Have tried to contact KLM for help with hotel bills but no response. Can anyone provide details of how to claim from KLM?

Eleven of us were stranded by Monarch. Two in their 80s and one aged 2. We were delayed over 6 hours until the small hours, all to suit Monarch's convenience. They said they dont pay compensation as a matter of "policy". I reminded them EU261 is a STATUTORY DUTY and they referred me to their "lawyer" from whom not a peep has been heard.

I am issuing 11 county court writs for breach of statutory duty in failing to compensate each passenger, failing to provide adequate refreshments, failing to provide calls/emails and for failure to provide care for the very young and very old passengers in my party.

Win or lose, the press will be present throughout.
