I haven't got any wine SOMO

Kids have had their tea - tuna-cheese nuggets from the second Dinner Lady book, they went down reasonably well and were a good way of using up leftover mash.Me and OH will finish them off when he gets in with a beansprout salad from the More With Less Cookbook made with home sprouted sprouts!I don't really like feeding the kids separately, but they've got judo later so they need to have had their meal an hour or two before they start.

Lovely peaceful day today as they were back at school

My compost bin has been delivered - it's huge. The one I ordered from the local council for 15 wasn't available so they've sent me the 25 model for the same price They also threw in a free kitchen waste bin for all compostable stuff plus some bio bags (they biodegrade apparently). The kids are really keen and have diligently put their apple cores in the new bin.

    I know

We're supposed to only have it on Fri,Sat and Sun.But I tend to get some in on Thur when OH takes his old Dad to the pub (and because it's nearly the weekend ).Then OH sometimes gets one when he fetches the boys from Judo on Wed.So we must exercise some restraint on Mons and Tues......It's hard though

I have now made shower gloop which is cooling down.

DDs and Dh loved the lasagne!

Got choc and ginger muffins for 29p at Sainsburys for after.

    Sold a book on Amazon!

DD needs to buy a birthday pressie for friend and had set her heart on a make up palette like the one she and other DD got earlier in the year. I checked the site and they are now 26!

Hastily checked some other sites recommended on here and have ordered an Iman Treasures make up palette that should have been 25 - for 9.99 plus postage!

Not only that but - it was the last one!

Other DD has just brought home 2 bottles of Stardrops!

elona, you should have checked out Debenhams!! They have some fantastic makeup kits starting from a fiver.

I am heading off to bed as soon as 9pm arrives. I have a stinking headache and nodded off earlier, I want to watch some programmes on tv tonight so I'll watch them in bed. Dispatches is all about Yob Culture, then followed by a new series of Wife Swap, then the new series of Extreme Makeover on UKStyle

Hopefully my head will be better in the morning.

Mum told me today that it doesn't look like my uncle will be coming home from hospital and even though I hate him and will be dancing on his grave would I help her with clearing his house when he goes? I said I would happily because that will mean the he will no longer be alive to haunt my life and prevent my children from seeing their grandparents as often as they want.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    Evening all!

    Welcome to the newbies!

P-P What a shame your caravan wasn't up to scratch and the weather wasn't great either - still, at least you all had a change of scene, and as you said, it was nice to get back to your nice warm house! Hope you will start to feel better now you're home. (((HUGS)))

Frey I wouldn't worry too much - my DD1, SIL and DGS moved from their flat into a house last July and they still haven't finished decorating! The house had just had a new kitchen put in by the HA and so the walls had actually been painted magnolia, but my DD's DH is registered blind (tho he has a little bit of sight) and he couldn't see to do anything in the kitchen because it all looked white to him, so they had to paint it a darker colour! They are currently trying to get the garden properly organised so they can grow some veg without SIL's Guide Dog digging them all up!

Rzl hope you were pleased with your haircut! I'm getting mine done on Thurs, seems to be the time for it at the moment!

Cha97michelle Glad you found a comfy bra! MY DD2 has had probs as she was a 34D to start with. She managed to find a couple, but I've suggested she gets a couple of nursing bras as they seem to be cheaper and go up to bigger sizes!

Tootles What a great idea to take things like apple crumble with you! I think we'll do the same thing when we have our caravan hol in Normandy in June. Thanks for the tip!

Lillibet So glad you all had a lovely day yesterday! I was thinking of you. Please give Spud a hug from his Auntie Ivyleaf!

Katgoddess In case you read this,(((((HUGS))))) so sorry to hear about your Nan - thoughts and prayers are with you all.

VickyA Same goes for you re your Grandad! (((((HUGS)))))

Have a good evening everyone (think I may just have some wine somewhere!)

I do this in the slow cooker and it is a "cheat!"

I microwave chopped onions, chopped tomatoes and garlic till onions are softish.

    1 layer tomato mixture

1 layer lasagne sheets (moistened in water)

1 layer Campbells cream of .....condensed soup mixed with half a can of milk (I use chicken or asparagus or sweetcorn or mushroom) and chopped chicken or turkey.

Keep repeating layers till you finish with creamy mix on top.

3 to 4 hours on high in slow cooker - or an hour or more in oven at 190 ( I put foil on top so it does not burn)

    Quantities for six of us

2 or 3 cans chopped tomatoes

    few cloves garlic

    3 chopped onions

    2 cans Campbells soup

chopped chicken ( about 4 ounces or whatever you like)About three quarters of a pack of lasagne sheets.

About half a pint of milk.

    Evenin' all

Home from work, managed to extricate myself from the clutches of my boss who is not familiar with the concept of work/life balance  especially when our (enormously energetic) team admin assistant is on holiday for a week and the rest of us have quite enough to do already.

Must get a couple of things done in the kitchen in a mo. Am trying to watch telly, even though the local riff-raff are sitting outside our house tooting their car horns at each other

Michelle - Vicky's right - your savings are looking good! In a weird coincidence, your current total is within a couple of pounds of what mine is going to be by the end of this week! I get paid on Wednesday, and then get my choir money on Sunday - and as it's April, I have to assume that they're going to get my tax code right (which is never a given because of the money they have to deduct for my choir wages  ) - but if they do, I'll be just about on 9,220 too

Vicky - ((((hugs)))) to you and your grandpa.

ivyleaf - I haven't had the haircut yet - it's booked for next Wednesday morning when I'm OFF WORK!!!! It's a Tony & Guy Academy haircut, which means it'll take hours as the student hairdressers have to get clearance from their supervisors every other minute - but for 5, I can't complain Am hoping I might be able to get it coloured while they're at it.

SOMO1 - I thought of you and your George Michael tickets this evening! The new issue of Opera magazine was waiting for me when I got home, and one of the news articles said that a show I've recently obtained tickets for (at vast cost, paid for out of stoozing interest!) sold out within four hours of booking opening - so I feel very fortunate...

I forgot to mention how fabulously well-behaved I was yesterday. I still haven't bought a spring coat, and I went into Debenhams and tried on a beautiful GS By Gharani Strok coat (90) but DIDN'T BUY IT

Haven't been so well behaved today though Went into Lidl for baby leaf spinach and they didn't have any - 5mins later came out with a big bar of coffee cream chocolate in hand and two hours later, there's none left Not only that, but I then popped into Tesco's for frozen peas (success) and Greek yoghurt (out of stock) but discovered their fab post-Easter reductions on all sweetie egg type things Came out with 2 six-packs of Creme Eggs (44p per pack) and four bags of Rowntrees "fried eggs" for 27p a bag. I will save the Rowntrees eggs for the summer - at the Proms everybody's always passing sweets round and this will save me a few quid. In fact I think I'm going to go back for more Now I just have to stop myself eating all those Creme Eggs at once

Hope everybody's having a nice evening

i did think that, but DH said not to bother. I've gone up to a 40C from a 36c, and the woman said i could change again. Nursing bras were about the same price and i don't want to keep forking out.

M and S were cheaper than mothercare, and seem a bit more comfy
Oh what bliss after squeezing myself in for the past few weeks. sorry for TMI

BRZL Well done you too with your savings. After our discussion the other week i decided to just get my backside in gear and get on with it. I can save, but i am also very good at spending. Plus, it helps that i 'manage' mine and DH's incomes, so as long as i make sure he has enough for his tax bill he just lets me get on.

I think it's made a difference saying, well that is my minimum target by maternity leave, and then thinking that my quality of life will be much better if i beat it. I can do about 600 per bad month, and 1000 plus on a good month. I will keep on scrimping. Look for another bounce soon as I will get end of month interest and i've just transferred another 450 as DH cashed in his overtime. Better in our savings than in his boss's account like he would do with it. It's so much easier being a couple, and also being up north. I don't know how you do it at London prices as every trip down cripples us for that month.

PP i thought year 6 sats were the week after? I'm sure your DD will do well after getting into the Grammar school anyway.

    Michelle, xx

I could also volunteer. I'm rapidly becoming 'egg shaped'. I realised today that my bump is the same size as my friend at work. Only she is 2 months further on, and is actually a bump, and i think mine is just fat.

The woman who did my bra fitting pointed out my back fat. I'm ready to hang up the chocolate now before the stretch marks appear.

I'm so glad i'm not vain
