NEST or People's Pension?
Hello, I'm looking for a bit of advice/opinions on NEST and People's Pension. I currently have a Scottish Widows pension from a previous job that my new employer pays into, however - my current SW's pension isn't AR complaint, the only AR scheme they have on offer you need a min of 50 employees (I am the only employee at…

Employer Pensions Contributions
I have a question regarding Public Sector employers workplace pension contributions. At the moment deductions are made automatically at the end of every month. Can I determine where those pension contributions are made to, ie to a Lifetime ISA for example? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Pension date versus retirement age?
Can anyone explain why? My wife's 65th birthday is 23 January and her pension is not due until May 2019? I cannot find any reasons why this is legal in any of the Government details on Pensions? My birthday was 3 march 1953 and I received my pension in April of that year!

Merge this board with Pensions board?
Hi folks A suggestion has been made on the Site Feedback board that we close this sub-board down and move auto enrolment threads over to the Pensions board. We want people posting on here to have the biggest change of getting a reply. If that's more likely to happen on the Pensions board we're happy to do that. Let us now…

Wasn't auto-enrolled but money has been taken
Hi everyone, I recently started a new job and wasn't auto-enrolled as I wasn't earning over the threshold - so didn't have to opt out. However I recently did some "one off" overtime which put me over the threshold and out came the money for the pension. I haven't had any correspondence from where I work regarding if i've…

Work Place Pension
I am on a zero hour contract and have been enrolled in a work place pension but I haven't had any advice or information from my company about it. At the moment, the company is contributing 2% of my wage minus £503 a week (so wage - £503 x 2% = contribution) which is inline with what the .gov says about voluntary…

Minimum Wage Salary Sacrifice - Not Offered Alternative
I'm currently on a 12 month contract with a company, started in June this year. I'm mid-30s, on minimum wage, so as I understand it, I should be automatically enrolled onto a pension scheme at work. I was offered a scheme, but it was a salary sacrifice one, which being on minimum wage, would've taken me below the minimum…

NHS Pension
Hi, I joined the NHS pension in October 1996 under the 1995 section. I then transferred to the 2015 section. I plan to retire at 55 in 2025. I have 3 questions: 1) Under the 1995 section, I know that the best of the last 3 years salary will be used to calculate my pension and lump sum. What I’m not sure about though is…

Newbie Q on company group personal pension and higher tax rate
Hi I am earning north of £40k annually gross and I've read my pension fund (standard life) claim back tax relief on top ups at the basic rate of relief so I need to go to HMRC directly to get this back. That bit I'm ok with according to the advice I can do so via self-assessment. One thing I'm not clear on is this: My…
