What ISP would you pick?
Currently on 500 FTTP via openreach and SKY. Deal coming to end in June but can leave now with rise. Don't use landline ever and have on router RT-AX86U Pro. My options are :- 1. Stay with openreach on FTTP Benefits are they can switch me without me contacting sky during 30 day grace of price rise. Don't need install from…

Sunday 12am connection issues
Hi all, We’re with Shell Energy for broadband and when it does work (throughout the day time) the speeds are perfectly fine. However, we have an ongoing issue whereby on Sundays when it hits 12am (Sunday night/Monday morning), it disconnects. It isn’t every Sunday but it is very frequently, I’d say around every 2-3 weeks…

Plusnet is pants
I reluctantly stayed with Plusnet just over a year ago. I'm regretting that decision. I'm on a two year contract for broadband only and, despite it being 'fibre' (to the cabinet) the service is atrocious. I'm lucky to get 2 to 4 Mbps down and less up. Yet I'm about to have an above inflation increase on my £21.73pm bill.…

Leaving Virgin media
My Virgin media contract runs out on 2 May. If I give them notice on 2 April, are they obliged to continue until 2 May? Should I switch to another provider now (and pay two companies for the next month), or wait till just before my Virgin contract is up? Thanks!

Broadband acting unlawfully?
Hi there, I've just noticed something with my Onestream broadband, I looked at my contract summary and it says: "On 1st April each year your standard monthly fee will increase by an amount equal to the Retail Prices Index rate published by the Office for National Statistics in March plus up to 3.9%" Note that they said…

Sky Price Increase leaving Broadband keeping tv
I am unsure of the answer to this and wondered if anyone else has been in same position before I contact SKY. I am tied in to my 18 month SKY TV and FTTP 500 plan until 12th June. I can see that I can exit my broadband FTTP 500 plan early due to the price increase but not TV element. Can I simply place my order with…

Sky April 2024 increase (please check yours)
I have had an email from Sky saying they are going to put up there prices in April by 6.7%. I understand this is in the contract when I signed up (not that I agree about mid contract price changes by the way) However doing the math it looks like I am being over charged + Sky are rounding up, I would just like people to be…

Recommendations for Email Service Provider that can be used in my Web Browser
Good Morning My discussion title may not be correct because I don't know what the correct terminology is. I currently use BT Basic Email which I use on my Web Browser. As a lot of people will be aware BT apparently "Upgraded" their email system about a month ago which has actually turned out to be a major "Downgrade" for…

Open reach charges
Hi I have just realised that my ISP has billed me this month for a BT Openreach engineers visit. This was back in April 2022. BT have been out a few times and sorted faults and the report says I refused work to be done. I have never refused any work to be done. Can they do this.

Onestream fibre bb
Anyone got any experience of them? i live in Devon and have had terrible bb for several years (breathing a sigh of relief that shell bb is coming to an end it's been diabolical service and provision). Just signed up to Onestream by phone, and am calling them as their email confirmation has a different monthly price to the…

V4 Telecom
Does anyone on this forum use V4 Telecom? My parents who are in their 80's were unwittingly signed up to V4 a couple of years ago when they were with Talk Talk and getting a bad service. The method of signing up was an unsolicited call which I was not happy about once I found out which was some time after my mum had signed…

Vodafone broadband 12.7% price increase
Hi all, After reading a number or articles coming out about price rises of broadband I am shocked to see how understated Vodafone broadband price increases are and useful for people to be aware of. Based on the details in their contract the price increase is based on (pre discounted rate) x (CPI + 3.9%) So let's take their…

TalkTalk and social tariffs
TalkTalk are NOT offering a social tariff any longer I think that this is a mistake that will come back and bite them.... I thought that all ISPs had to offer cheaper rates but I am wrong

Broadband/TV - renewal of contract
A recurring complaint on this and other forums is the anxiety and difficulty when agreeing a new contract with the Broadband/TV service providers. It strikes me that one of the problems is that some of the providers do not publish a menu of items with prices. So essentially you never know if you are getting a good deal, a…

Now Broadband overcharging
A month ago I received the out of contract email, which I get every year around this time, stating quite unambiguously what I'm paying now and what are my options going forward. It clearly states "Do nothing and continue with your existing membership for £23.50 a month Or Pick from one of the packages below available to…

Having to use housebuilders' internet 4 years after moving in
We live on a new-ish build estate and as is becoming more common. had to take the housebuilders' internet service as no other providers were active. All was good for the first 3.5 years but recently it breaks for the whole estate several times a week. Outages are often short, only a few minutes at a time but still very…

Is 150 mbps broadband necessary for most people?
Hello, I'm with Sky broadband on a very low speed - at around 11mbps - which is perfectly fine for me. I have no issues with it - just the cost of it at around £35 per month. I'm looking to switch company but I'm now seeing very high numbers in terms of speed, like 150 mbps with Community Fibre and Hyperoptic (I'm in…

Ultrafast 900Mbps Broadband at Fixed Price, Superb Customer Service & 12 month contract on Openreach
Might be helpful to others. I found an excellent broadband package online direct from a broadband provider on the Openreach Full Fibre (FTTP/FTTH) network who has an excellent customer service reputation and reviews (ISPreview is a good resource for this). 12 months contract, fixed price (no price rises during the…
