Can I apply for a balance transfer equating to more than the original balance!?
A few years ago I did a BT to an MBNA credit card from another credit card and store card. I didn't have the account numbers to hand so they simply put the cash in my bank to distribute accordingly. They didn't check or ask me to prove if I actually paid anything off. My girlfriend and I are getting married in September.…

Positive balance now at egg money. How to move?
At last I'm up and running.... I have done BT from credit card A to egg money. Now have positive bal at egg money. How do I move it to my A&L savings a/c. Do i use the "one off payment" option on the egg site? Do I then move it to my current a/c then from there to A&L savings or can it go direct to A&L? I know I now also…

Just been rejected by Amazon
Can't believe it, need to shift a balance from Egg by 1/4/06. Applied to Amazon online, even had to log into my Amazon account to do it. Spend a flipping fortune with them and they turned me down instantly online. I do not work (well I do, self employed part time) but I always put down that I am a homemaker because self…

Quick question
Hi Guys First of all I'd like to say thanks to you all especially Martin for saving me a Loadsa money... ;) My question is this. I've got two credit cards with Egg and LloydsTSB. Credit limit with Egg is £10,000 and with LloydsTSB it's £5,000. First of all I transferred £9,500 to my bank account and while waiting for my…

Stoozing - rules of the game
I managed to stooze £67k over 6 cards - transferring the money to a high interest account in my non-tax paying wife's name. Now all the 0% periods have finished and all the cash paid back, and recent application to get a Skycard but only secured me £3k limit, so I think it's time to cancel a few cards. To get the cash from…

How long does it take to do BT? When to apply for new 0% card?
How long does it take from applying for a new card (with 0% on balance transfers) until the balance is transferred from an existing card? Just wondering how long before my current 0% deal expires I should start applying for another one? Thanks in advance

Stoozing - Whats it all about
Sorry in advance. I bet this has been asked a thousand times, but I am as thick as they come. Can someone explain or point to an article explaining what Stoozing is and how do I go about doing it. From what I understand, its getting a 0% interest BT card and transfering the money into a high interest account, then paying…

Zopa scores - do they update?
I've just got my first Zopa credit score/rating, and was just wondering if this score changes on your My Info page? i.e. is it regularly updated via Zopa's link to experian/equifax? Or do you have to somehow get re-scored? If so, how can you do this? Darryl.

Worth asking for reduced limit on Egg?
Have credit limit of £15k on Egg, 95% of which is in stooze pot. 5 months aniversay offer ends 30 Jun 06. Once I pay this off at end Jun is it worth asking to reduce credit limit to say £500 to improve credit score? Other 2 cashback cards (I use one and wife the other) and Nationwide for overseas have total limits of about…

Virgin new offer
Don't know if anyone else has 'threaded' this at all recently - and I can't be bothered to go through all the Virgin threads at the moment - but I rang up Virgin this a.m. to cancel my MasterCard having paid off my stoozed amount. And they offered me a new £9.5k 0% till August! This is the first time I've ever had a repeat…

Ways to get an increased credit limit?
Wondering whether to try and increase my credit limit on my Natwest Gold card and getting some more cash out of them before getting a new card from a different company. I'm at £3200 at the moment and when they sent the card it stated to call to be considered for an higher limit. I anticipate that they are going to ask…

1% Borrowing
As a way to stooze (not something I'm able to do at present), according to Zopa their lowest lending rate in Market A for a term of 36 months is 1% at present. Maybe it would be worth taking out a 1% Zopa loan and bunging that into a savings account as another string to your stoozing bow? Unless it's a typo. Rich

Do you stay registered to retain access to your credit file when stoozing?
Just wondering do most of you experienced stoozers stay registered and pay the monthly fee to have constand access to your credit files? I have done the free trials with experian & exquifax but when they end I assume I cannot get another free trial. Do you stooze without seeing your file from then on or pay for it at some…

Virgin card
I want to apply for the virgin card to begin stoozing - is it the 0% balance transfer card or the 0% purchases card we should use? Also noted on the internet application form there is no option to balance transfer to a bank account - do you use a switch number or do it after setting up the account?

Is this a good plan?
I've about to reach my credit limit of £3200 on the Natwest Gold card. It's all in my savings account along with £1500 worth of free overdraft from Alliance & Leicester, £2000 worth of Interest Free DFS purchase money + some other cash... Rather than leave the Natwest card and start purchasing on another one, I am planning…

Virgin fee - my experience
Hi This is a follow-on from a previous post. My Virgin card had run the course of it's free SBT period - and (thanks to YB) I got this extended at a 0.9% rate. At the time, YB asked if there was a fee - and I said I didn't ask - so I didn't know if there was. Anyway, it turns out they did charge a fee. (£35) So, I called…
