Print on demand selling questions
Hi all, I have a load of digital designs that I am looking to upload
to a print on demand service and sell them on various items online. I have done
a decent amount of research so far and think that using Printful for the
orders, production and postage would be a good option for me, and then using
Etsy as my shop but…

HMRC not paying refund
I'm owed - according to my accountant and agreed by HMRC - just over £3k in overpaid tax. I requested this but its past the two weeks. They say not to chase for 4 weeks but I've heard some folks are being fobbed off for months and I really need the money. Anyone experienced this?

Crown/treasury takes your assets if you close company
I recently closed my company with £600 in the account. I was completely shocked to discover that the crown/treasury just took this money out of my business account and closed the bank account. There should be some kind of warning or communication to tell you they are going to do this.

On off payment, invoice needed?
I took some pictures for my son's clubs competition as a one off, not expecting any payment, but when I sent them the photos, they asked how much do I want? I said, I'm not sure, whatever you think they're worth; thinking nothing of it, untill they asked me to invoice them an amount. I'm shocked, and didn't expect anything…

Side hustle - shop on Etsy
Hi, I am thinking of running a small business to sell scarfs from home as a side hustle. During my visit to Kashmir, I bought some scarfs and brought them along with me as a tester. I have set up an etsy shop but i am very hesitant to publish the shop until I know of the taxes. I have always been a PAYE employee in the UK…

Medical history shared in meeting. Is this a data breach?
Thanks in advance for your help. My husband is a sole trader providing services to a local council. Sadly, he is terminally ill and instead of being shown sympathy the Council hauled him in to a meeting and demanded to know how his company could continue to provide services whilst he was either ill or dead. He said that I…

Small Claims Court (Pothole Claim Against Council, I'm A Small Business)
Hi Group - I had almost £1000 damage to my car via a pothole in West Sussex. I followed the claims procedure *from* the council. A trainee denied my claim (I could see on the letter that her title was 'trainee'). I then spoke to their litigation department. They said they would look at the claim again. Looking back now? I…

Is this OK?
The chap that does a bit of maintenance for us since my husband can't do as much these days is de-registering for VAT. The account I pay him into is a personal not a business account. He has asked if in future I can pay his wife because she only works part time and this will keep her under the tax threshold. I don't mind…

Accessing Euros without Forex
I run a small business with a lot of overseas travel in cash only countries.
