Need help & advice with my builder
Hi, I'm having problems with my builder. I had my house repointed last September 2023. In march this year I noticed some parts of the repointing have fallen out. I contacted the builder & he said he would come fix the problem areas but he keeps putting it off. And now he says he has a bad back. I'm not sure he's telling me…

Argos, click and collect. Distance sale or not?
I won’t get into all the details at the moment, and will try to keep it short and precise. If an iPhone was purchased online on the argos website, paid for in full at that time and then just collected from the store the following day, would that be classed as a distance sale? Should I be provided a refund if it was within…

Do Small Claims Court Limits Include Court Fees
Confused as to whether the £115 submission fee for starting a claim becomes part of the total claimed. It's important because my claim is very near the limit for the £115 fee (i.e. £3000) and I don't want it to be rejected if I fall into the next highest band of fees (an extra £100 or so).

Faulty office chair consumer rights
Purchased an office chair in October 2019. In June 2020, I contacted the retailer because the piston wouldn’t keep the chair up. They said I could return the product to a store before October 2020 and receive a full refund. I explained I was unable to get to store currently and may not be able to then either due to being…

Can I ask for refund of college course fee over an undisclosed requirement?
I've signed up for a part time art course in a local college. I've just had an email letting me know materials to bring to the first class and with a 'health and safety sheet' attached. When I read the sheet, it was a page of Covid era rules, about social distancing and hand sanitising. The problem is that it is…

Amazon sent the wrong item and won’t refund me
I'm curious if anyone else has encountered a situation similar to mine. I placed an order for an iPhone 15 Pro on Amazon, but when the package arrived, it contained AirPods instead. I reached out to Amazon's customer service, and they provided a return label after I provided photographic evidence. Amazon insists they sent…

Faulty furniture from IKEA... What are my rights?
We purchased a set of wooden garden furniture from IKEA costing around £500 18 months ago and the wood has already cracked and warped despite being cared for as per the instructions (covering when not in use, putting away at winter, treating the wood etc.). The furniture is now unsafe to use and has only seen one summer.…

Wren Quartz - Cancellation rights
Hi everyone, We have recently bought a kitchen, with quartz worktops from Wren. Consumer Rights Act 2015? Not worth the paper it written on.
My recent encounter with a retailer and the courts have left me disillusioned and to be honest, concerned in how the justice system works. A person buys goods to the value of £4056, he pays by debit card and collects the goods in person. The retailer doesn't have any demonstration facilitates, however, they do invite you…

Online retailer refunds money and cancels the order
I wanted to get advice on this by people in the know of online purchase contracts. Yesterday I made a purchase online with a retailer I had never used before but is within the UK.
