Need to remortgage as expires in August. Wanted to go with HSBC on their lifetime tracker at .79 + base rate. So I reverted back to Nationwide who…

Please settle this arguement
I have no outstanding debts apart from my mortgage. If I don't have the money for something I don't buy it unless it comes interest free credit or if it's essential then I take out a short term loan (Zopa) which I pay off as quickly as possible. I have had a long standing discussion with my husband about paying off the…

Large fall in final maturity value
This is my first post and I am wondering if anyone can advise me. This month has finally seen my Endowment policies mature. I've been notified about the under performance of all the policies and indeed all the final values have been sigificantly below the original forecasts. I took the appropriate measure to ensure I had…

Maturing endowment didn't match payout prediction
I took out an endowment policy 25 years ago and it matured last week. In February 2007, the insurance company told me it was on target to pay back its full face value. In fact, all the illustrations they gave showed it exceeding the face value (£40,000). However, it has just matured (16 months since their letter) and is…

Which is the best debt to reduce prior to re-mortgage?
I'm helping my brother out with his monies and his fixed interest mortgage period will expire in March 2009, so I am already considering possible re-mortgages. Is this a good deal (again)!
Still searcing for a good remortgage deal and narrowed it down to two: 5 year fix at 6.24% 10 year fix at 6.14% Both £499 fee. Was set on 5 year fix as it's not too long and hopefully things will change. Silly question but does anyone think 10 years is too long at this rate and they will actually come down?! Thanks everyone
