How they work it out is beyond me but they pay 45ppl for LPG, about the same for electric. Is there some calculation i can use or is…

Kerosine Use - Can someone give me quick answer?
I have an oil boiler which controls heating and hot water. I recently filled it up with 500 litres, and since then have had the heating on for lowest setting for 30 mins in the morning and another 30mins at night. It cant be kept on longer than that because its simply too warm. One bath is run every second day and…

honeywell digital thermostat probs
Hi, does anyone know how to turn off 'optimum start' on the stat if installer set-up mode doesn't let me in? (i.e. 'press buttons 3 & 4 & Info together). I've rung Honeywell & was met with disbelief that I couldn't get in, and was told to get Warm Front, the installers, out to do it for me. Trouble is they came twice…

Ferolli 80E
Hi there, not sure if anyone can help but these forums have proved most useful in the past for other matters. I have just moved into a new property with a Ferolli 80E boiler. All works great with the hot water (apart from a low pressure problem in the shower - but that's another story) Our main problem is that now it's got…

Infrared heating
http://www.multiguardheating.co.uk/ I'm really taken with this as heating but I'm sure it can't be as good as it says - does anybody have any experience with anything similar. My main concern is how long they would have to be on for. They run on electric so could be expensive. At the moment we've got ugly radiators,…

Boiler fault - can anyone diagnose please?
Hi, I've got a Micron 30FF boiler and it refuses to light if it's been off for a few hours. It will go through its firing sequence, the gas will ignite and then at the end of the sequence (about 15 seconds) the gas is cut and it fails to continue burning. I had a friend look at it (professional fitter) who squeezed one of…

New boiler for old - what alternatives ?
My Vaillant Ecomax Pro 18 boiler has just packed up. A mate in the building trade has had a look and told me it's a problem with limescale in the main parts of the boiler (heat exchenger, combustion chamber etc) that's built over the last six years because we've never had it serviced. He reckons it would be cheaper to…

Which is a cheaper method of heating? SH vs Halogen heaters.

Heater for our house (no central heating)
We currently don't have any central heating downstairs as we've had a new boiler and haven't quite got round to plumbing in this bit as the rooms are changing.
