http://www.mineweb.com/mineweb/view/mineweb/en/page43?oid=73730&sn=Detail Quite a worrying report for the Commodity Bulls, especially as it comes from the managers of the Blackrock World Mining Fund.

This country....
Well, yes I have been worried the last couple of days.. Not loosing sleep, just worried.. I have a decent savings bundle, and I fear it is getting more and more worthless by the day. I see the pound getting weaker and weaker by the minute, and the government throwing money at problems, like they always do. Now, call me…

Has anyone got any thoughts on the new fixed accounts from Nationwide. 6 months / 5.17% 1 year / 4.88% 2 years / 5.10% If I did the the 2 years at 5.10%, even though it's not that great now, in a years time it might be hard to get 4%. So would be a wise chose. Anyone?

Icesave compensation payouts... how to keep the pressure up
I was asked on another thread what MSE would be doing to help in the campaign to get Icesavers their money back. The first thing to say is we have a binding promise from the Chancellor made numerous times that ALL monies that were in Icesave will be covered (and so there's no doubt this means above the £50,000 limit too).…

Save £1 a day, for 10 years... how much?
I've been trying to work this out, I read a small article about saving 1$ a day, for 10 years, you obvioulsy save 365x10 = 3650. Only problem with that calculation is monthly interest and tax? for instance, no-one is likely to walk into a bank with £1 a day. More likely say £30 a month, to keep things sensible, and you'd…

Protection AND inacsessibilty needed
Greetings to the Forum, My sister-in-law has a bit of money (about 30K) presently sitting in a regular savings account. Her intention has been to buy a pension (she's 56) to kick in when she's 63 or so. That was before the present financial climate. I have several views on this.* Any pension she buys now isn't going to…
