Bankruptcy and running a small business
Background: In July 1989, my then wife and i took out a secured loan for £19,000. Unfortunately we split and divorced in 1990. The split was very amicable, i handed over my part in the house to her for a small sum. I wrongly assumed this would also end of my liability for the debt. I then backpacked around Europe for 9…

hi, we are new to all this. and after reading some of the threads on here, i think br might be our only option. we are 50k in debt. we have only a small equity of around 20k on our house, but after penalty fees and sale fees, we would be lucky to see anything over 8-10k.the mortgage is 189k, and the house would be sold at…

Anyone else had Co-Op Visa Electron card issues in the last couple of days?
I was just wondering if anyone else had had problems with thier co-op visa electron? Gifted 1 £2000 car - will it be taken off me
Hi, I am to be gifted a £2200 car. My current £700 car is being sold - so it's really £1500, I suppose. The car I have at the moment is giving me some mechanical problems. My question is that since I am in deep financial trouble and am looking at bankruptcy, is this car likely to be taken off me by the receiver? Is the…

Water Company question
I have received a letter from my local water company. The water bill is in joint names and because of this they are saying all the £350 debt is still owed. I went B/R in July so I naturally assumed that half the debt should be written off. If this is so does that apply to council tax arrears as well? Thank you
