HSBC Loan
My husband has a loan with HSBC where he has just over £5,000.00 outstanding. He has savings of £7,000.00 and would like to pay his loan off. Would it be best to pay off the whole amount or would it be more savvy to pay off say £5,000.00 and then pay the remainder over the next couple of payments. I know with some loans…

Alliance and Leicester 10.4% interest on personal loan
I applied for a loan with A&L of £8000 over 5 years. Advertised rate 6.4% but they have offered me a loan at 10.4%! The loan is in joint names with DH, AFAIK neither of us have any faults on our credit history and we are well able to afford it. Are A&L just ripoff merchants or else what could have gone wrong with our…

Northern Rock unsecured loan - should I pay off part or not?
I have a Northern Rock loan and it is the most expensive element of my current debt. Therefore, following Martin's advice I would be best to pay it off before other debts. However, I only have enough money to pay off a portion of the debt - which Northern Rock have said is ok. Does it make financial sense to pay off a…

If let's say the bank gives you £2000 overdraft 0%AER... - can you withdraw £2000 if don't have any money in your account? - can you choose to use the £2000 overdraft provided to pay for something instead of the money available in your account? - what are the uses of an ovedraft?
