Closed accounts appearing as open?
I paid off and closed 2 credit cards back in January, and a mobile phone contract also came to an end around the same time. All of these accounts are still showing as active, and money owing on my credit files with both clear score and noddle. Does any one know when these will be updated and shown as closed? I'm sure my…

So now on my file, the latest default is January 2016 when actually the default happened in July 2010! It looks to me…

Defaulted current account on my CR
Sometime around 2009 I was financially over-extended whilst I lost my job. I couldnt afford to meet my monthly commitments and defaulted on numerous accounts. Fast forward to today, where I have done my best to come good and settled all bar one of my accounts. I earn half what I used to so was not easy. My final defaulted…

Checkmyfile.com why so little mention?
I've heard of checkmyfile.com before but never bothered with it but looking at the site this morning I see they do a 30 day free trail and also that they provide multi agency reports. All sounds good in principle so why so little mention of them? Anyone know what CRA's they include and any reason to avoid them?

Default I wasn't aware of?
I'm looking to apply for a mortgage in the near future, so I requested experian's report so I could check it, expecting it to be fine, but it's revealed a £56 default in August 2013 with Virgin Media from when I was living in a student house. I moved out in Dec 2012 on bad terms with my housemates, I'm sure I called them…

Santander Check on My File
I received my monthly credit report yesterday and noticed a search on it from Santander with "anti money laundering " against it. At the time this was done I had opened a couple of new current accounts to put some savings into and had moved some money around for me to do this. I had received a couple of calls from the…

Hello, I have finally pulled my head out of the sand and I'm looking at sorting out some old debts that have crippled my credit rating for years. Lender (Provident) not updating my credit file?

(I needed to replace a car and though my credit file is improving I could not find another lender. I scrimped and saved and paid off the loan,…

Letting Agent Checks.
Hi, I'm shopping around for a rental place at the moment, they all mention the dreaded "credit checks" - I've occasionally mentioned some issues I had 5.5 years ago and they've said not to worry. I'm not sure I trust them, they're all so keen for me to give them £400 in non-returnable application fees. However I've just…
