Cooking wine or sherry recommendations requested
I want to experiment with added wine or sherry to some cooking. I don't drink so I don't have any bottles I could try. I understand that the cooking version of red wine and sherry contain preservatives so opened bottles keep longer. I wouldn't know the difference between different ones and don't know what would be a cheap…

Weekly Flylady Thread 04th March 2024
I
thought I’d do the lists a little different this week to enable more of us to

to your ability…

2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD
To use Guineapigsqueaks/Sa1sysoo words “A new thread for declutterbugs in (2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021) 2022 !" 2021 has been a bit of a washout on the decluttering & decorating fronts. Just haven’t managed to summon up any enthusiasm for anything. The bedroom is still not finished ☹️ We need a new carpet 😔 before…

Whole Duck
On another thread someone mentioned 2kg ducks being for sale at Lidl. I have never bought a whole duck before - only duck breast - so I’m wondering how many meals you would expect to get out of a 2kg duck? Would it be similar to the same sized chicken? And what would you use the leftovers for? I can think of duck pancakes,…

To give an idea, during the weekend I was walking around in a t-shirt and a light cotton jacket. He was wearing long-sleeved shirt, a down jacket, a…

Weekly Flylady Thread 26th February 2024
Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread. What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole…

Feeling the Pinch!
My child only eats the thin bagels as normal size are too much and too bready /calorific for him - has them in packed lunch.
