Why do I see so many rubbish cars with very exclusive number plates?
Yesterday I saw the reg "002 007" (which I don't even understand how it's a reg) on a really cheap, crappy Honda. I'm assuming that number plate is really rather expensive. I'm noticing it more and more - very exclusive number plates on very old, very cheap cars. What's the reason for this?

Someone ran into me in the car park - do I need to declare it on my insurance?
Hi, I’m seeing mixed things about this. Someone ran into my car whilst the car was unoccupied - they took full responsibility and everything went through their insurance. Do I have to press Yes on this? It puts my quote up by around £300. My friend is insistent that since I didn’t make a claim I don’t need to declare it…

Road Tax start date for new purchase
Hi folks, just picked up a vehicle that I purchased yesterday, which is currently taxed and I went online to tax it myself. So the purchase date was the 12th of August but Tax site is saying that it's from the 1st of August. Is this standard? That the road tax would start from the first of the month? That seems a bit…

FordPass: location tracker
My new Ford provides an app called FordPass. One feature of this is that it shows the location of the car on a mobile phone. Does this fulfil the insurance question: You may have also heard of these referred to as Thatcham-Accredited tracking systems. Some insurers may also refer to these as VTS (Vehicle Tracking Systems).…
