Car is being written off but we dont want that
Hi Everyone. I'm hoping someone can assist with this stressful dilemma (I did search and couldn't find the exact same thing on here). A few weeks ago we were hit from behind by a van. 100% their fault. Dash cam front and rear shows this so there is no issue here. Their vehicle was dented (ford transit) but ours came off…

Does any Insurance Company Payout with Cash Instead of Vouchers?
When it comes to content insurance, does any insurance company give you the option to receive in cash instead of vouchers or are they pretty much all the same?

Aviva ridiculous car insurance renewal quote
Currently with Aviva. £432.33 previous year, £677.61 renewal quote. That's a price hike of 64%. They want almost £700 for a 7 year old car which sits on my driveway most of the time. I've been a car insurance holder with them for approximately 3 years, and have held other policies for over 7 years, and this is the reward.…

Car Insurers RIghts
Can my car insurer refuse to allow me to see photos of my car taken by their approved recovery company. My car was affected by a fire at an airport whilst I was on holiday and I wasnt permitted access to it before it was removed for assessment.

Strange travel insurance pricing
Looking at prices for renewal of annual travel insurance. As going abroad less (fed up of airport faff), decided to look at single trip cover from a leading travel insurer for same areas. Was it cheaper, being for only a one-off trip? Not only was it more expensive, it was about four times the price for same cover, approx.…

Insurance companies now want to go through EVERYTHING by AGAIN phone after purchasing to "Validate"?
This is just ridiculous. I went through Quidco Compare Van Insurance, which then went through VanInsurance.co.uk to be insured by Aviva. Upon entering all my details and making a one time annual payment I was then presented with an online promt that stated I had to phone 0330 041 9361 to confirm everything I had input over…

How is CompareTheMarket allowed to send me an email like this?
Yet when I click ANY of the links on the email (as to whether I'm signed in with my account or not) this price or any of my details are NOT on their website and it makes me enter ALL of my details again, then the price is actually closer to £600. It states "Review and buy" but this quote does not exist.

Home insurance quotes for this year seem to have gone crazy!
Hi folks, Home insurance both buildings and content are to be renewed near end of April. Currently with Tesco bank, last years prices were under £200, I had my details with both Confused and Moneysupermarket so I have just let them do a quote for coming year. I did have one claim in 2016 but that is over five years now,…

Separate flight and tour booking - are you covered if one is cancelled?
I have booked a group tour that does not include flights (they can book them for me but it's 3 times as much as booking myself). If I book the flights myself and the tour is cancelled (currently departure is not guaranteed), would my travel insurance refund me the cost of the flights? My policy is unclear on this and when…

Car insurance claim and solicitors
Hi, about a year ago my car was parked in a car park when hit by another driver. We were not present but they came into the cafe and passed on their contact details for insurance claim. My insurer arranged the repairs as expected - I didn't pay out any costs directly for this. I heard nothing further but I have now been…

Insurance invalid - Claim Car Hire and Letter
Hello, I will keep this short as possible. Almost two years ago: I hit the back of a car on the motorway The car I hit, hit the one in front of it (no visible damage) My insurer said I wasn’t covered because I was coming home from work (my bad, didn’t realize that was a thing) After a year a half I receive a bill for 11k.…

Auto aid renew despite telling them not to
Just had a big surprise when Auto aid renewed this morning. Advised them last year by email. And again this year by email. In desperation cancelled today through the website but they are taking a £25 fee from cancellation. Customer service is awful. Bank said they will putthe payment into dispute. Anything else I can do ?

No response from other parties insurance company after six months.
Six months ago I was hit from behind while stationary at a roundabout by a young lad driving far too fast for the conditions. It was dark and raining heavily and he ended up locking up and skidding into the back to me. Luckily the damage was fairly minor, but still required a couple of weeks in the repair centre for a…

Car damaged by football at kid's football match
I am the Club Secretary of a grassroots football club (ages 7 to 15) Our car park is next to the pitches and has a large sign saying “All vehicles left at owner’s risk” A lady has emailed me photos of the damage to her car (small crack on rear window) after a wayward ball from a game hit her car. We have public liability…

Insuring a Vacant Property awaiting sale
A relative may soon be moving into care and so have to sell the home she owns. She may have to leave it before it is sold, leaving it vacant meanwhile. The estate agent thinks that from marketing the property to completion could take 6 months. My question is about insurance in such circumstances. 30 years ago I found…

Critical Insurance ended months before diagnosis
I got critical health cover through work. In March 2023 I started diagnosis for a neurological condition. In January 2024, the company tupe'd me to an outsource company losing the benefits I had and I was told I can't carry on my cover. March 2024 the diagnosis of MND was confirmed. Obviously between Jan 2024 and March…

Paying Excess on someone else's policy when they are at fault
Hi. We had a rouge builder who caused a huge amount of damage to our home. He was insured with NFU using a trade policy for liability. They have offered a settlement at only 10% of the actual damage caused. They are deducting from the settlement figure his excess payment ??, surely this cant be right. Does anyone know if…

Surveillance by income protection insurer- I am being followed, I think
I've been receiving monthly payments under a group income protection policy for the last 10 years due to a long-term illness that means I cannot work. I'm pretty sure I've been followed when I leave my house over the last couple of weeks by the same guy. Talked it through with a couple of sensible people and they don't…
