Virgin are not only shaping internet traffic already but are punishing its "unlimited" adsl users by putting them to 4 times dailup at 3 gig downloaded , not only p2p but gaming and streaming video are included.

Now it looks like they are going to be using a 3 strikes policy , do they not actually want any customers?

For me they are a joke already , the worst internet service I have ever had.I hope this is the deathnell in "rich" branson.

Virgin air dont want you to go cheap holidays to the eu , they say they are eco freindly yet still fly aircraft.

Virgin used to be the only option to the big brother brigades , now they are one.

Looks like sky is calling for its free internet.....bummer cant get that if im too far from an llu exchange.....but still can get unlimited adsl for 10 quid less than im paying virgin.

theres never enough class actions in this country , someone should take the isps to task at governemtn level.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Big brother brigade? They're merely conforming with the law, because i'd say probably 99.5% of people using the internet use P2P for illegal means.

Simple answer to all this is to not use p2p software.

would that be 3 gig/day? hard to justify legal usage above this, only so many linux distros in the world...
as to 3 strikes, i believe its becoming very common, and soon to be regulated (my isp, entanet, have the same policy)
i'd love to know where 'unlimited' adsl is available for a tenner less than virgin (ipstream not llu), do tell..

I believe that all ISPs have until next April to implement this system otherwise the government will force them to. So moving ISPs isn't going to make much of a difference because they will do the same eventually.
  • well i use my net with working from home pc repairs , combined with kids consoles and their surfing , wifes online games and surfing , and of course my own surfing and the occasional wow.

I also use it to listen to radio ,and update my tomtom daily.

I usually download one or two distros a week ,theres numerous flavours of even each one , and every other pc that comes in gets a windows live update of drivers and service packs ovcer and above the sp dvd .

They have also lost me as a listed client twice for no reason , no records on the mainframe at all.

I watch about 30 mins of tv a day , exlcuding the news.

thing is virgin protrays itself as the underdog , always has , yet once they arent they do the same practices they complained about from sky , bt and ba.
